It's a simple as that!
Which was already described a few posts and a few years back here.

Except that none of the Windowing systems I have on any computer have what you describe.
Except where it is, exactly as described by Mike in pcmanfm.

Re: Camera won't work when display is connected

I mean i already got it running 2 times (1 time with raspistill, 1 time with a python script), but it's pretty random if it works or not. Are you sure it is not a power issue? The website states you should use a 3A power supply when using the screen. It works with just the screen, it works with jus...

Re: HDMI output tvservice -p results in blank screen

There is NO WAY - literally no way at all - to turn off the second HDMI screen - this is just so bad. Some modern TVs allow for IP control, for example Sony https://www.npmjs.com/package/sony-bravia-tv-remote LG https://github.com/klattimer/LGWebOSRemote I haven't tried them but I don't see any rea...

Solutions are either to get a better shielded cable for the USB 3.0 device (in your case, the SSD), or place the keyboard/mouse dongle on a shielded USB 2.0 extension cable (even a short one should help), or just move the USB 3.0 SSD further away from the Pi4. Hmmm this doesnt seem right. I have be...

Re: Haupauge DualHD (em28xx) driver broken. Kernel spam "write to i2c device at 0xcX failed with unknown error" on RPi4

One thought - I have an external USB3 hub into which all my tuners are plugged, and that's plugged into one of the USB3 sockets on the Pi4. (The other USB3 socket has a USB3 HDD connected). The PI4 only has a single speed converter from USB3 to USB2 which will serve all USB2 devices connected direc...

not exactly convenient but

Code: Select all

nano ~/.bash_history
from terminal could do what you want (replace nano with your favourite terminal text editor)

I'm not sure the OP is talking about network powerline adapters. @OP - Is it not more like an X10 plug setup https://www.uk-automation.co.uk/x10-home-automation/ or wireless sockets such as https://energenie4u.co.uk/catalogue/product/ENER002-2PI ? I have never used either but the genie stuff is desi...

Re: Getting individual pages from magazines - remix?

I'm not sure what OS you're using but in Mint, and more than likely other Linux distros, pdfshuffler can split/re-arrange/add pages, it can also concatenate files. Inkscape can edit pdfs one page at a time. So you can export each page you want in pdfshuffler, edit the pages in inkscape and save as a...

You'll still need an adapter for the video. A male bnc to female rca. For cheapness you could use this and cut the video plug off. https://www.adafruit.com/products/2888 or for tidiness you could use this http://www.ebay.com/itm/BNC-Male-to-RCA-Female-Composite-Video-Adaptor-Adapter-Connector-/38057...

I don't have a Pi desktop handy but you could try holding 'Left Alt' and click on any part of the window with the 'Left Mouse' to move it around. It works in Xfce but, as I said, I don't have a Pi desktop handy.

Shouldn't that be

Code: Select all

@/usr/bin/python /home/pi/myprogram.py
with a space between /python and /home.
Also check all your paths in the script are absolute and not relative.
It would help if you posted your code too.
