4 bands vs 5 bands resistors (color blind)

just replenished my 1987 resistor kit using a ebay vendor.

I ordered thin film 5 bands (blue body).

But the red they use is really strange, to the point I wonder if they simply did not made a mistake.
My ohmmeter is telling me both are 18K...

Re: TSOP8438 - Tested 3 none receives signal

It started to work on 5v... I'm really surprised, every post I've seen they've set it up to work with 3.3v with the TSOP4838, yet mine didn't. As soon as I tried the 5v it just started to work. Oh man, I feel so much better now xD Sorry for the necro, but THANK YOU, this solve my issue too: 3.3V su...

Re: autism: what is your score on this quiz?

I got 31. But I think a single number for a multi-metric quiz like this is a fair bit off-balance. Having a lower floor to just say "No autism" could, as it almost did for me, discredit someone for being high in one area (social encounters are just downright painful to me) and low in others - I put...

That being said,I still agree with the OP, for the simple sake of info preservation.

+1,
IMHO,
Relying on external sources for larger images can cause lost of details on older posts, when the external source goes offline.

I just read a news about the reason for the kernel jumping to 4.x so fast, is to catch up the Skynet kernel's version number, which is 4.1.15 in T-800. So watch your Pis, do not update ! Uncle Clive Sinclair was very good at that. When he was making stereo amplifiers he bought reject transistors very cheaply and then tested them all. Funny, he must have been dirt cheap ;) At the same time, this is a very interesting comment. Of course, if you KNOW what the defect is, you might be a...

It would be insane to use a part with defects on a consumer product unless you planned a method of cutting the power to the defective portion. Ben As a matter of interest, Sinclair used exactly this approach for the 48K Spectrum - bought (very cheaply) memory ICs which had known defects in either t...

Colin,
