Garage Pi Touchscreen

I am thinking of installing a Pi in my garage for youtube videos, music, schematics, etc. The most logical control interface would be a touch screen but I hate to spend the cash to buy a 15inch touch screen monitor when I have extra 15 inch monitors lying around. What are some inexpensive ways to ma...

Re: RetroPi or RetroAndroid?

That interface is perfect for my wife. She knows how to work electronics but can't go into troubleshooting and finicky issues. Just chose your system, your game, and go!

I think this is what I will do. Now I just need a cheap source of Xbox wireless controllers.

Re: RetroPi or RetroAndroid?

That makes sense. Have you tried a Recalbox before? Smooth game play? Any big issues?

Re: RetroPi or RetroAndroid?

So you think the RaspberryPi 2 with RecalBox would give me better performance than an Android tablet?

RetroPi or RetroAndroid?

I want to get my wife an NES/SNES/Sega/N64 emulator for Christmas but I am having trouble deciding what rout to take. A RetroPi looks good and has a great interface, but I’m not sure about the performance. Will it handle, say, Mario Kart 64 on split screen? Can it have more than 1 wireless controlle...

Re: To Pi or not to Pi?

To Pi or not to Pi?

I am looking to construct a low power system with a multitude of purposes. The question I have is should I go with a RaspberryPi or a small laptop? Maybe a third option I have not thought of? Here is what I want the system to do: Read Sensors (Two thermometers, a barometer, moisture/humidity, motion...

Remote Access Station Connection?

I am interested in the potential of using a Raspberry Pi for a remote monitoring station. The station will measure temperature and air pressure and maybe a few other things. It will be powered off some deep cycle batteries trickle charged via solar panels. Here is the rub: I want to get updates from...

Re: The Rebel Pi

You raise a good point about the WEP2 encryption but I wonder how prevalent WEP is in developing countries like Syria. The script could be limited to gaining access to WEP or unsecured networks. The RebelPi would need a screen to interact with data and then we are back to a netbook being more practi...

The Rebel Pi

I had a strange idea and after a brief Google search did not find anything about this so I thought I’d throw it out there. The Arab Spring has seen many grassroots rebellions in nations with modern amenities. In Syria, for example, YouTube has been instrumental in educating the rebels in how to surv...
