Re: Google TV or Android OS

Google TV is an android version optimized for TV's. So running any one of those will be possible as soon as someone had made a version of it with the right drivers and firmware.

From what I've heard Google TV isn't very stable, so I hope they bring out a new version soon.

You can also just duct tape it to the bottom of a shelf or to the back of your tv. But that is not the kind of respect a raspi deserves.

Re: TV-Tuner/Capture

Tv-tuner is a quite demanding piece of hardware, so it probablywon't run very smooth.
I've also found the Linux software very limited and of a disappointing quality.

I think a language like c/c++ is better for this kind of devices. In java you can't control the memory as well as in c++, and c++ doesn't need a virtual environment to run...

Apperently there is already a raspberrylinux distribution, make sure the logo doesn't look like theirs:

Re: Logo Competition

<r>Thanks. I actually did not think creating a raspberry could be this hard. The biggest problem of the logo is that it should be recognizable as a 10x10px version. So you can't put to many details in it, but it still has to look good on a t-shirt (yes, I would wear a t-shirt of Raspberry Pi <E>:)</...

I've only done some amateur logo designs, mostly for students.. But I'll try to express my ideas if I find the time (I'm just very interested in the raspberrypi project). I noticed what a jerk I look like criticizing the designs and not coming up with anything better myself.

Re: Logo ideas

<t>I do have to admit that a raspberry isn't an easy fruit to design a logo. Apple could use the distinguishing outline of an actual apple and everybody recognizes it. But for a raspberry it would just look like a pile of dirt. So for a logo I would focus less on the raspberry and more on the pi.<br...

Re: Logo ideas

I'v read the full thread and not seen one image that can be used as a logo...

Logo's should be more simple and should be able to be printed in black-and-white (no grayscale, just 2 colors). If I had some spare time left I would make my own suggestion...
