Re: Who's got their hands on a B+ so far?

Nope, causes a reboot too. Re: Who's got their hands on a B+ so far?

Thanks for that info, Gordon. I am most definitely seeing a reboot instead of a shutdown though. Has anyone else running headless via ssh -X noticed that? It definitely shuts down correctly when HDMI is connected which makes it a bit more difficult to troubleshoot, since I'd have to rig up another w...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Edit: also what other cpld could fit the guzunty ? I wanted a couple more xc9572xl's but I refuse to pay the postage from element 14,and cpc (although they are the same place ) seem to have stopped stocking them.I seen some on digi-key but they wanted £12 pnp lol.I have looked at a few,but I wasn't...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Confirming correct operation on the model B+ of the following cores:

gz_test, gz_16o8i, gz_lcd

more core to follow, but it's now highly unlikely there will be any issues with the others.

Re: Who's got their hands on a B+ so far?

That's due to older firmare which didn't support it yet. I would hope that the firmware in the repo is recent enough and you can fix it by running apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade, but if that's not the case, rpi-update or the nightly firmware packages should do the job. dist-upgrade didn't hel...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

I thought that's that the cpld functioned as an arduino once programmed with the core. Actually, that is not such a unlikely idea. Larger programmable devices, like the Xilinx Spartan are capable of *being* an Arduino. The XC9572XL in the Guzunty is not that large. (it's also more than 5x less expe...

Re: Who's got their hands on a B+ so far?

so doing an apt-get upgrade on a Model B pi is guaranteed to get you an image which boots on a Model B+ Pi (after transferring it to a microSD card). 8-) It booted OK, it just didn't power up the USB ports. A clean Raspbian install works fine, and does enable the USB ports. I will report back after...

Re: Who's got their hands on a B+ so far?

I got one courtesy of Farnell, working great. One thing I noticed though, I expected to just put an existing image onto a micro SD and go. It didn't happen that way. My image, made with dd booted ok, but the USB ports were not powered up, so no wi-fi, keyboard or anything else. Works fine with a fre...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Initial tests show that, as expected, Guzunty is compatible with the new Pi model B+.

I will test more completely in the coming days, but there is no reason to anticipate any problems at this time.

Enjoy your Model B+s :-)

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

A Leonardo, huh? Yes, you can interface that to the Pi through the CPLD. You wouldn't want to connect it directly to the Pi because it works at 5v. What I do is to connect the CPLD to the ICSP header on the Arduino. I use the gz_arduino core, which connects the programming signals and the Rx and Tx ...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

The PI doesn't have any native analog in's as far as I know (anyone listening please feel free to correct me) and the CPLD is strictly a digital peripheral. It is possible to add an R2R resistor ladder with the spare CPLD lines if you were absolutely determined to use just the CPLD, but my understan...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Hi Jaybee, Yes, it is possible to use the spare capacity of the CPLD in combination with the daughterboard. In fact, that is what P2 and P5 are for. P2 carries the unused RPi signals and P5 the spare CPLD signals. Check out the daughterboard schematic here: https://github.com/Guzunty/Pi/wiki/LCD-Dri...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

For anyone who is interested, we're expecting Guzunty will be Pi Model B+ compatible.

We've ordered a board and will confirm this (tomorrow hopefully).

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Hi Neal, I'm a 'C' programmer and so the examples are in 'C', there isn't a complete set of Python examples at this time. There is a Python library, and I did create a couple of Python examples so that you can see what you need to do for the other cores. The 16i8o and 16o8i cores have Python example...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Part of my aims for this is to get experience with 12C. Guzunty can't do I2C without some external resistors. I have it in my TO DO list to experiment with this and make some cores, but yet to get around to it. The same story with 1 wire. Guzunty support for SPI is good. You can see therefore that ...

Re: Guzunty Pi. New users start here.

Hi Neal, I have seen one previous case where the CPLD stopped working after initially passing the bring up tests. A replacement device was the solution. Please check that your programming jumpers are still in place and in the Program position. If that doesn't help, please PM me with your mailing add...

You are indeed the first. :-) The problem is with JTAG signals somewhere.

Can you post photos of your build? Both sides please. Then I can eliminate anything obvious quickly.

Hi Toshi,

Were you able to try the upgraded API? Does it meet your needs?

Please let me know so that I can close the GitHub issue.
