Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

Works fine here, you are using the Pi Store version? On sf2 it fills the whole screen, i.e. no black bars.

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

A number of games were fixed that may have been broken before, I don't have a list due to the type of fixes that were applied - there's too many ROMS to check. To get a list of games run "./fba2x --gamelist" which produces a report of all supported games and hardware type in a file "gamelist.txt".

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

New version released:
Fixed some games. Added more Taito games. Added "MaintainAspectRatio" option to allow filled screen.

System 16 won't be supported as the drivers are too buggy in this version of FBA. Use MAME4ALL instead for those.

Re: PiFBA released - Final Burn Alpha arcade emulator

aguirrech, the games display in the correct aspect ratio, would you really want to stretch them to the display?

Vanfanel, yes System 16 look to be disabled, some Taito are working though. I'll try and enable more games in future.

Let us know the changes on https://code.google.com/p/pisnes/issues/list and I should be able to put this into the code and make it configurable.

Katamari, run a "make clean" first then a make. I assume you're using the actual PiSNES source code to do this?

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

To joacliba and topguy, log an issue on the MAME4ALL website https://code.google.com/p/mame4all-pi/issues/list and I'll take a look. Should be possible to add configuration for this.

Re: PiSNES released - Super Nintendo emulator

Unfortunately due to some "issues" out of my control PiSNES has been removed, hopefully temporarily, from the Pi Store.

You can still download it from http://code.google.com/p/pisnes/downloads/list

Re: PiSNES released - Super Nintendo emulator

I wouldn't mess with the overscan stuff or set the resolution in the config.txt as it only rescales the framebuffer text, not set the video resolution (that's all done through dispmanx). The Pi also has some bugs with the overscan stuff that messes up SDL and the graphics initialisation. You'd be be...

That's a list for a different emulator on another platform. It's also based on the original MAME4ALL but is quite different.

You can get the info directly from mame4all:
/usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps/mame4all_pi/Full/mame -gamelist

Get the header using "-gamelistheader" and other options use "-h"

Re: PiSNES released - Super Nintendo emulator

Wreckingball, I don't quite understand your issue. You have to define all the keys in the config file or they just default to the original settings. So having two keys with the same value won't work.

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

New version released. Download it from the Pi Store. * New graphics engine backend has options for non-antialised graphics, scanlines and 16bit colour support. * VSync support is much better eliminating stutter on full speed games. * New graphics backend may mean some 8bit games are faster, but 16bi...

Have you logged an issue on the official Raspberry Pi kernel dev site? They're very good on there at responding to issues.

Re: PiSNES released - Super Nintendo emulator

You've put your roms in /usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps/pisnes/Full/roms/ I assume? To run PiSNES outside of Pi Store, in either X-Windows (startx) or the Console simply run /usr/local/bin/indiecity/InstalledApps/pisnes/Full/snes9x.gui. You could create an alias for this in your .profile: ali...

Yes I'm getting this occasionally. I haven't managed to debug this happening yet. Only way to get around it is to reboot.
Running 2013-02-09-wheezy with default kernel.

Re: Problem with french keyboard

Hi, I have a problem using Mame4all with a french keyboard. Nearly all keys are OK, except keys 5, 6, 2 and 1 ; so, I can't insert credit, nor launch a game. Just reconfigure the keys in MAME, press TAB and enter the "Input (general)" section. You can then reconfigure the coin and start keys etc to...

New version just released. The graphics backend was rewritten (based on Andrey's excellent GLES2 backend) to allow non anti-aliased drawing and other post-processing effects like scanlines.

Re: MAME4ALL for Pi

Yes, I think it's designed for vertical games as they seem to be OK. Most horizontal games I've tried tend not to work properly when rotated, snowbros squashed, sf2 missing graphics, neogeo completely wrong, etc. It's a limitation of the 0.37b5 MAME core, I haven't done anything special to handle th...

Dispmanx without anti-aliasing scaling

Anyone know if this is possible? Dispmanx does anti-aliasing scaling for pretty much no cost but there doesn't appear to be a way in the API to do the scaling without anti-aliasing. GLES2 can do scaling without anti-aliasing with the GL_NEAREST setting but I'm not getting as good performance as I do...

mongrol, listxml option came in later versions of MAME. There's "-listfull" which generates an equivalent which you could write a script to convert to XML.

Sadly that sounds like an SDL incompatible joystick. (SDL is used by PiSNES for input).

Can you run http://pisnes.googlecode.com/files/sdljoystick on your Pi with the joystick plugged in. It will say how many axis there are.
