Re: Java Device I/O code

Good question. Two aspects really; why not just use the existing Python GPIO Zero library, and if it must be Java why wrap Device I/O rather than Pi4j? Firstly I'm a fan of both Java & Python, however I have been programming in Java since JDK 1.0 was released in 1996 and prefer the type safety of Ja...

Re: Java Device I/O code

There was zero documentation for this; I've updated the readme . Still needs a lot of testing and cleaning up in certain areas but I welcome any feedback or comments. I realise of course that there is the excellent Pi4J project, I just needed something based on standard Java Device I/O. Regards, Matt

Re: Java Device I/O code

If anyone is interested I have uploaded an initial work-in-progress version to https://github.com/mattjlewis/diozero.

Any comments are very welcome.
For the base classes I've attempted to mirror the excellent GPIO-Zero Python library.

Matt

Java Device I/O code

FYI, I've created a number of Java Device I/O classes for communication with the following devices: TSL2561 BMP180 HC-SR04 InvenSense MPU-9150 (including DMP support) TMP36 & generic LDR (via MCP3008) Let me know if you are interested and I'll upload to GitHub. The MPU-9150 library is fully working ...

Re: CM160 Owl Energy Monitor Driver Issues

Apologies, I may have found the answer simply by RTFM. I was looking at the "readme.txt" in the raspberrypi_cp210x_driver directory rather than the one in the main parent directory. That one states: This driver is required so that when the user space code (cm160Server.py) requests a baud rate of 0, ...

Re: CM160 Owl Energy Monitor Driver Issues

I'm trying to get this working with a Raspberry Pi running kernel 3.18.13-v7+. I'm slightly confused as I can see that the kernel already comes with the cp210x module. When plugging the OWL 160 into the Pi and running lsmod I can see that the driver is getting loaded and that /dev/ttyUSB0 gets creat...

Yet another Lego car project :-)

Apologies, thought I'd let you know of another Lego car project - this time controlled by a PS3 controller over bluetooth. http://mattandshirl.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/lego-car-controlled-by-raspberry-pi-and.html I've ordered a Pi camera module, just waiting for that to arrive so that I can stream vid...

Re: PS3 Controller and the PI

I think this could be the cause. I have no hcid.conf file but I read that the main.conf file has replaced hcid.conf file with newer versions. I dont see anywhere relevant to these options. Please help am getting very frustrated [/quote] Did you get anywhere with this? I've recently resurrected an o...

Plugable Bluetooth v4.0 USB Adapter

For info, I recently took delivery of one of these as I was wanting to connect a PS3 controller to my Raspberry Pi via Bluetooth. I've successfully paired my phone and iPad (although yet to do anything meaningful via these connections) without encountering any real difficulties so far. Now to connec...
