Re: Volume was not properly unmounted ...

i do not understand, why the official repository still contains an not working many years old outdated version of dosfstools. isn't it possible to update that version in the repository? it is not understandable why every body who tries to fix the dirty bit, first has to run in to a not working solut...

browser User-Agent pushes Apple?

hello, is it normal, that the webbrowser of RPi has a signeture of an Apple Macintosh in its "User-Agent"? i installed a apache2 + php5 webserver on one RPi and connect me with an other RPi to that webserver via standard webbrowser of RPi (startx -> WebBrowser = Midori) using its "User-Agent" signat...

Re: NOOBS v1.3 Beta testers feedback

is it possible to change the boot behavior? what i am looking for is 1. changing (enlarge or reduce) the time to continue the boot. What is the usage case where this is necessary? It is not user configurable unless you build NOOBS yourself from source. i usually used my RPi as mediaplayer (OpenELEC...

Re: NOOBS v1.3 Beta testers feedback

i grabbed the "lite NOOBS 1.3 Beta (of 2013-09-23)". i like the idea of an extra data partition very much. unfortunately i wasn't able to install that partition. the installation fails as soon as i click install (Raspbian, OpenELEC, Data Partition was selected / Lang:US, keyboard:de) but the install...

Re: Stella - Sound Delay

yes, i have noticed a big delay, ~10 seconds, in sound playback on stella (Atari 2600 emulator) as well. it must be an issue of stella or in combination with raspbian or so. to be sure, i just (2013-09-20) installed stella on a brand new virgin raspbian image (+update, +upgrade, +rpi-update), and i ...

Re: NOOBS v1.3 Beta testers feedback

The reason that @beta-tester got a blank boot-selection window is because of a bug I've already reported to @rdb ;-) i hope the dev notices that and fix it as soon as possible. There's currently (incorrect) code in the NOOBS beta which means that if you change the language (...) Until this bug gets...

i know, that windows embedded is not an environment to run "normal" native windows applications... and that wasn't my question. Python Trademark at Risk in Europe

From the Python Software Foundation’s Blog: There is a company in the UK that is trying to trademark the use of the term “Python” for all software, services, servers… pretty much anything having to do with a computer. Specifically, it is the company that got a hold on the python.co.uk domain 13...

Re: conneting multiple PIs together over I2C ?

i don't want use a big network hub/switch - needs too much space and extra power supplies and in case of type A boards, i don't have an internal ethernet port and a 3 wire parallel flat cable + connectors are way cheaper than all other solutions i guess. what will happen, when i connect multiple I2C...
