Re: Epiphany Youtube persistent red player icon

I haven't used Epiphany in a while since upgrading to Jessie, but might this be a solution to the problem? https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=772276#p772276 I also had this problem, but fixed it by using the js-file in that post: curl -Lo hack-video-embed.js https://www.dropbox.com/...

Re: Howto: Pepper Flash Player for RPI2 with Chromium & Rasp

I edited the version and description in a source file (editor ../src/config_pepperflash.c) and recompiled libfreshwrapper-pepperflash.so, but I still get a black rectangle where the Flash image should be (using Raspbian Wheezy). The version is correct now in Discuss on Scratch. I could not get manif...

Re: Howto: Pepper Flash Player for RPI2 with Chromium & Rasp

FWIW, this does work on Raspbian Jessie. Great! because Iceweasel works better than the version of Chromium in Wheezy (I have Flash working in Chromium). Does it work with Scratch 2 Flash games? When I click the globe when I discuss in Scratch I get "My browser / operating system: Linux, Firefox 31...

Re: Howto: Pepper Flash Player for RPI2 with Chromium & Rasp

I did succeed in compiling Freshplayerplugin in Raspbian Wheezy on a Raspberry Pi 2, but it only shows a black box where the Flash should be. I tried with an option I found here: https://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerplugin/issues/194 . I tested with https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/13110194/ in Ice...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 2 Q&A thread

Possible solution: keep the overclock settings separate for Pi1 and Pi2, so that transferring to a different version will not activate the wrong set of settings :? I also think this is a good idea because it would make it easier to move overclocked SD-cards between Pi1 and Pi2, and vice versa. AFAI...

Re: Howto: Pepper Flash Player for RPI2 with Chromium & Rasp

It might be possible to get the Flash-plugin to also work in Iceweasel: https://wiki.debian.org/Freshplayerplugin https://github.com/i-rinat/freshplayerplugin I tried to install according to the instructions, but cmake failed due to missing packages in Raspbian Wheezy. -- checking for modules 'libav...

Re: The Raspberry Pi 2 Q&A thread

How do you detect if the warranty bit is set on a Raspberry Pi 2 B? I found a test for Raspberry Pi 1 that I run on Raspberry Pi 2 and according to that the warranty bit is set on my computer, but I have only used microSD-cards with settings according to raspi-config. cat /proc/cpuinfo gives Revisio...

There is the warranty-bit and perhaps more bits that can be changed permanently one-time programmable (OTP).

SD-card that is overclocked beyond warranty

I student might bring a microSD/SD-card that is overclocked beyond warranty. How do you prevent that? I think it is an advantage that there is no internal flash-memory on the Raspberry Pi, because there can be nothing causing problems when switching SD-cards.

Epiphany shut down by http://openelec.tv/get-openelec

When I'm on https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads and click http://openelec.tv/get-openelec then Epiphany shuts down and ps aux | grep epiphany-browser shows that the process is removed. This works in Chromium.

There exists an app called Terminal IDE on Google Play. I think this could be ported to Raspberry Pi. Anyway, one can use Raspberry Pi as a terminal to an Android-device with Terminal IDE. Re: Adventures in Minecraft

I fix this problem like this because it saves SD-card memory by using links. In e.g. LXTerminal: cd sudo rm -rf ~/mcpi rm ~/Desktop/mcpi.desktop dirs=$(find /opt/minecraft-pi/ -type d | sed 's|^/opt/minecraft-pi|mcpi|'); for dir in $dirs; do mkdir $dir; done dirs=$(find /opt/minecraft-pi/ -type f | ...

Re: Free standing JavaScript application

mob-i-l, Eeewe...Java. That's the cruft we are trying to get away from with JS. There is only one browser on Raspberry Pi (that I know of) where sound works reasonably, and that's Epiphany, and that leaks memory. Also, it cannot be started in fullscreen mode. Sound works slightly in Iceape (Seamonk...

Re: Free standing JavaScript application

Which is the best option to run a free standing JavaScript application in the Raspberry Pi? (Rhino, Nashorn, SpiderMonkey...) I would probably also use Node.js for serious development, but Nashorn is included by default in Raspbian, and Rhino is easy to install. If you already know a Java GUI-techn...
