Re: How can you run a Java Applet in Raspbian Buster?

I could get Java Web Start to work in Chromium in Raspbian Buster with this command in Bash: sudo apt install icedtea-netx At least the first demo on this page worked: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/examples/misc/index.html I can start some Java applets using commands similar to thi...

Re: Java Applet

It's more to show old programs. The Java applets still work in IE in Windows 10. It would be good if they also could work in some browser in Raspbian Buster.

Re: Pi4 as Desktop computer

Raspbian Buster (most updated) sometimes locks the keyboard and mouse and the screen freezes when I have Facebook in a tab in Chromium together with say 9 other tabs. I cannot switch to Linux console using Ctrl+Alt+F1. In order to reboot I must login from another computer and do sudo reboot . Then o...

Re: Official Raspberry Pi keyboard

You can type the Insert key by typing Fn+Delete on the official Raspberry Pi Keyboard. I miss these keys: Pause, Super R (Right Windows key), Menu, Enter (on the num pad). Shift+F10 is an alternative to Menu, but doesn't send the Menu scan code. I think there should be combinations with Fn that make...

Re: Anyone used the Official Raspberry Pi Keyboard and Mouse with a PC? Is it compatible?

With one small exception: the keyboard does not provide the Ins key which is important for some PC applications to change from insert mode to overwrite mode. Examples are Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc. You can type the Insert key by typing Fn+Delete. I miss these keys: Pause, Super R (Right ...

Seems to work.
How do you get those good looking frames in the left screen? I usually get color inverted question marks because my LXTerminal doesn't have CP437, and the emulator doesn't seem to convert to UTF8.

How to Type Pause/Break with the Official Raspberry Pi Keyboard?

How do you type Pause/Break on the official Raspberry Pi Keyboard? It's some emulator that needs this. I've read that on some Lenovos without Pause/Break you type Fn+P and Fn+B, but that does not work on the Raspberry Pi Keyboard, e.g. Fn+P types Num Pad -, and Fn+B types b, according to xev . One c...

I think this trick of getting https://open.spotify.com/ to work by setting user agent to IE10 worked when there was Flash in Chromium for Raspbian, but that seems removed since Raspbian Buster. There is still Flash in Raspbian Buster since Scratch 2 uses it. Is it possible to get Chromium with Flash...

I have 64 MB GPU RAM. Should I increase?

Edit: I increased to 128 MB GPU RAM and now both videos work here too.

I still wonder if h264ify is an advantage on Pi 4, or not.
