Re: Locking issues/Refund.

I can add my experience: By disconnect do you mean remove a wireless dongle? Connecting/wiggling (not removing) a wireless dongle cause a crash (reboot). Dongles used are standard and mini Digitech brand. I'm guessing its spiking the power somehow and causing a crash. Have you tied a different wirel...

Using sockets

Hi, I am using lighttpd server. In the www/var/ directory i have a three files. html -> js (ajax) -> php (socket server) In the home folder directory I have a python file (socket client) that uses the data sent from the php file (socket server) to control the GPIO's. Every thing works fine, but I ha...

Re: ESC for RC car - forward/reverse

Maybe try setting up a different channel for each.

Code: Select all

servo = PWM.init_channel(0)
esc = PWM.init_channel(1)

PWM.add_channel_pulse(servo, SERVO_PIN, 0, 150)
PWM.add_channel_pulse(esc, ENGINE_PIN, 0, 150)

Re: Temperature sensor emailing from python.

See if this works.

Code: Select all

   #create email
      message = """Water temperature outside of ideal range. {} """.format(temp)

It's a common error.
The second last post of this thread should help:

Re: RPIO: An extension of RPi.GPIO with interrupts, PWM and

I get weird results when I try to write an individual PWM waveform to each of the 12 LEDs. Did you ever sort that out? I get a similar thing when dimming multiple LEDs. Dimming a single led works fine. Results are not as expected when dimming multiple LEDs, using both PWM.servo and low level PWM me...

Re: Servo Control from Python

ServoBlaster gives you the option of using PCM or PWM hardware. https://github.com/richardghirst/PiBits/tree/master/ServoBlaster Note that use of PWM will interfere with 3.5mm jack audio output. Instead of using the PWM hardware, you can use the PCM hardware, which is less likely to cause a conflict...

Re: Controlling a servo with pizypwm

This is likely not an efficient way of doing it, but worked for me. Using Servoblaster: from subprocess import call from time import sleep call (['sudo', '/home/pi/ServoBlaster/servod']) call (["echo 2=50 > /dev/servoblaster"], shell=True) sleep(0.7) call (["echo 2=0 > /dev/servoblaster"], shell=Tru...

Re: Adding Modprobe w1-gpio / Modprobe w1-therm to boot

Doing either of the following works fine for me.

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/modules
Then adding:

Code: Select all

w1-gpio
w1-therm
Or adding these commands to the python code:

Code: Select all

os.system('modprobe w1-gpio')
os.system('modprobe w1-therm')

scratch(MIT) connect

This is my first attempt at C. :) I'm using this socket client code(in C) see: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/C_Programming/Networking_in_UNIX to connect to and receive broadcasts from scratch(MIT) Everything works up to this: len = recv(mysocket, buffer, MAXRCVLEN, 0); printf("Received %s (%d bytes)....

lock up when saving code changes

Hi, When saving via "save image for end user" after making changes to the code, scratch opens quarter of a pink text box and locks up and will not close/exit or save changes. Other programs work fine while this occurs. It happens every time. It occurs with RPi (wheezy), mint 13 and now mint 14. Does...
