Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

Any insight on the delay between images in a slideshow (its a standard half a second for me). Is this a setting to be changed or the program fetching the next image (in which case perhaps add a second fetching mechanism for smoother slideshows?)

thanks for any responses

Re: Screenly OSE -- Digital Signage for the Raspberry Pi

If you SSH or SFTP into the pi and either login as root or use the sudo command you should be able to edit anything

Re: Anybody know how to make a splash screen

yes the same thing happens with me. I've left it there in the hope that any issues on boot dont result in a screen full of error text and instead sticks with the splash screen

I've got everything up and running nicely with an image slideshow (stored on dropbox) but I am getting a roughly 1 secon...

Re: Anybody know how to make a splash screen

Solved (and caused) my own problem.

I had authored my script file in notepad++ in windows, which makes it unreadable as windows and UNIX deal with /n etc differently.

Write your script on a UNIX box or SSH into the pi and use nano. That fixed it for me

Re: Anybody know how to make a splash screen

I followed the same guide and got a fail too. Right at the start it returns: asplashscreen: no such file or directory I've executed "fbi /etc/splash.png" in the terminal when the pi is fully loaded and it displays the image fine. I've also confirmed that both the fbi file and the splash image are in...
