It does make sense if what you are trying to protect is the electronic components industry, which was probably the case when it was introduced... it's just anachronistic now.

...and that's how I was going to solve the lack of a realtime clock issue - just use the output from the gps and use it to set the system clock.

Which Bluenext did you use? The BN-903S?
