Re: PatchCraft?

Ok, I'm having a chat with BluDragon, and he says that using assembly code, we might be able to add in spaces using a hex editor. That will be very useful for connecting to non-local PE servers (AKA servers that are not connected to your internet hub) That would be useful - the mechanics of redston...

Re: PatchCraft?

After seeing your new guide I feel a huge session of experimenting - once my keyboard arrives. I will have... something in a few weeks. I might try a crude form of redstone using wool.

Re: MCPI Guide: Hacking MCPI! By me, mrpi64

You may want to change the part about decompiling. Decompiling is not against the license, however distributing modified binaries is - as long as you don't distribute any actual binaries you're pretty safe.

Perhaps the drivers on the pi aren't working properly. I'd try a different camera (perhaps the pi camera)

NOOBS display

I recently put NOOBS on an SD card, and turned on my pi. I pressed 3, as the downloads page says to press when using a composite PAL screen (which i am using). However, when I did so, nothing happened. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might solve this problem?

Re: Joining Pi's for emulation

Yes, there are several tutorials for joining pis together using mpi, but there is probably very little software that would take advantage of the extra power.

The OS wouldn't be open source. Unfortunately that puts this idea to a complete halt.

Change the overscan settings in config.txt. but don't expect minecraft to play nicely with such setting.

Re: PatchCraft?

I must get round to decompiling it then. I don't actually know C++, but it looks like this will be the place to start (I need motivation, and what more motivation is there than being able to mod minecraft). 1st on the list - redstone. Edit: Unfortunately my pi is currently out of action - X not resp...

Re: MCPI WORKING TNT!!!

You can use quite large amounts of TNT in pi edition without crashing your pi (i have only crashed it by spawning in huge amounts of tnt, that would take hours to put in by hand). The real reason TNT doesnt work normally is, like pocket edition, there is no flint and steel. ■TNT is available for bui...

Re: PatchCraft?

the licence for 0.1.0 (the leaked version) wasn't done properly. It would allow for decompiling (especially to learn ;) how it worked.

FAQ: How powerful is it?

In the FAQ, it says under how power ful is it,
graphics capabilities are roughly equivalent to Xbox 1 level of performance

you may want to change that now the new "XBOX one" has been announced, I dont think it has anywhere near that performance (over powered if you ask me)

On 0.1 (the leaked version) bows did fire. It can only be a case of comparing the two and eventually you could make a patch. It would take a while, though.

The SoC only knows to use the files from the SD card when booting. Do you mean putting the Ext4/Ext3 root file system on a usb stick?

Re: MCPI WORKING TNT!!!

There is no value so that it instantly blows up. Lit TNT is an entity rather than a block, so this would only be possible if/when entities can be controlled by the API.
