Re: RPi in "Intel Presents the "Make it Wearable" Challenge"

The logo on the pi in the video is clearly visible. Surely that breaks the Trademark rules ;) . http://www.raspberrypi.org/trademark-rules (iii) use the Raspberry Pi Marks in a way that creates a false impression that your product or business endorsed, sponsored or associated with Raspberry Pi or Ra...

Re: Minecraft problem on remote connection

Unfortunately, because of the way MCPI uses hardware acceleration, the graphics aren't technically a part of the X desktop, so won't show up unless you capture what comes out of the HDMI/Composite port.

Probably easier to install linux on the tablet and install a vnc viewer - getting a touchscreen to work isnt easy if its from a tablet/phone etc.

(repeated) SD card corruptions

Just using my pi with software in the pi store etc. my SD card gets corrupted every few days, so I have to wipe it, partition it into a single FAT partition and start again each time - I'm guessing its a "dead" SD card, but i just want to check.

Over on the minecraft.net forums that had a tool for 1.0.0 (the leaked version) that did exactly that.

Re: Gaming possibilities

So you want to spend as much as the Pi to buy a GPU that may or may not work with the Pi after months of work, when there is already a suitable GPU for anything the CPU can handle - and after that, find that nothing will use any of the extra grunt? Seems a bit of a waste of time to me.

Something like this has been done before - it looks very difficult, probably impossible without spending less than other screens that size. If you really want to, search jumbotron ds into google.

Kernel panic after attempt to install open arena

On raspbian, I tried to install open arena, from the pi store. About half way through, everything in X closed down, except the pi store. When the download finished, the pi store closed too. At this point i could do nothing. After a short (10 minute) wait to see if anything would happen, I pulled the...

Is there any way to allow the pi to recognise my gamepad as a keyboard/convert the output, for use with MCPI? If there isn't I cannot use MCPI :|

You will be able to download it (including the source code, if you're into that) but not yet.
Things are looking more and more like it is... possible.
