Re: Thinking about buying a raspberry pi...is it for me?
My main concern would be the network rate - 150mbps or so probably isn't enough for much when it comes to video. If your current setup works, I see little reason to change it.

Re: Windows CE 6
the cost for the software to build it is either $995, OR an MDSN subscription. Which also costs $995. and then, for each copy distributed, another fee(probably $995). Also, you need a microsoft certified blimp to live in (probably).

Re: Windows CE 6
Doesn't Win CE need a license to be used ??? Is it possible for individuals to get those ?? Because otherwise this discussion should be stopped right now ! (I believe the Foundation is against piracy !) Last time i checked, to use it you needed an OEM license to port it, but its a lot easier to ge...

Re: Set up PI for Spying...
If you are using the camera board, I would suggest using raspbian, and perhaps the berrycam iphone app/pisight android app. All you need to do is follow each apps instructions, then forward port 8000. You'll probably also want to set up a URL for it, i suggest no-ip.

In my opinion, you almost certainly want to use an arduino if GPS isthe only rrequirement. It is programmed in what is essentially C, and has libraries for the GPS shield, and tutorials.

Replicant VS Android
I'm not putting myself forward to port this, but: Android is great, but it has a lot of proprietary software on it (the UI, Drivers etc.). So, some people decided to get rid of said software, and replace it with free software, creating Replicant. Replicant is also great, but no version so far includ...

Re: minecraft server (public)
Yes, you can. im not entirely sure on the details, but if you check in the gaming forum it will tell you to download java 8, the server jar and then run the jar. then you will need to forward your port to make it public (be warned. the pi will not cope with more than maybe 4 or so people on the serv...

Re: Customizing Raspi board / Adding additonal screens
you can have two separate screens atthe moment, using HDMI and the Adafruit PiTFT, and when the official DSI port screen is available, I think that is also independent from hdmi, so thats three... as for a fourth, i have no idea on how that could be added.

Re: Minecraft Server on raspberry pi
You can run a minecraft server on a single pi, as long as you dont expect it to run as fast a a 16-core intel machine with 64 gigabytes of ram. Your suggestion of connecting them can be done, but to get desktop-like performance, you would have to pay desktop-like prices. Overall, its easier to just ...

If you want to learn python, there is a tutorial for pong here: http://www.linuxuser.co.uk/tutorials/make-a-game-on-raspberry-pi I haven't quite read through it, but a few quick searches on Google aboutpython and you sshould be able to do it. Alternatively you could use scratch if this is your first...

Try the instructions as above (ignore the ubuntu part though) - i haven't read through it, but it looks like you only have to do part of it.

Re: Actionscript 3 development possible?
The flex download is for all platforms, so it should work, but the problem is using the swf files. you can do it using gnash, but it is horrificly slow on the pi.
As for AS3, its based on C (i think), so that is what i would try.

By the time you have overcome all the problems with making it portable, your probably better off with a chromebook - not that i dont like the pi, but the chromebook is a baetter solution

Maybe, SteamOS is open source, but the actual Steam part is proprietary. I am going to see if it is possible, but it could be x86 only.
