Re: amercian keyboard

I got a new problem now. I don't know what type of keyboard I actually have. It is a generic 101 key keyboard but I don't know name of style it is set up in. All is I can tell you is that the # is the secondary function of the 3 key.

GCC

I heard that GCC is the best C compiler for the pi, but I am having trouble firguring out how to download it. I know you have to do through a mirror site but when I checked a few of the american sites. All I found was list of foulders. Do I have to download every one, one by one or is there somethin...

Wipi wireless

I am using a Wi Pi with my pi to connect to my home network. Do I need to upload any drivers to the pi for it to work with Debian 6. Do I need to set up an address or anything like that once I do?

Re: Raspberry pi and Parallax Propellor

Okay one more question, From the pictures of the pi on the net the power jack looks like a usb port. Is there any usb power supplies compatible out there and where can I get one?

Well I am back. It turns out that the book on python I requested to be brought in from Quincy at the library was checked out. Is there any particularly good websites or youtube tutorials on the subject(PS I am a complete beginner with Python)

Re: Raspberry pi and Parallax Propellor

thanks for the link. I don't think it will be too much of a problem though. After all I am only using the propellor to be an interface between the motors and bump sensors and the PI. I will simply set Pi and the propellor as the slave

Re: Raspberry pi and Parallax Propellor

Change of plans. I found a library for I2c for the Raspberry pi on Quick2Wire.com and a matching object on the propeller Object exchange. I will post again in a few days when I learn more about Python.

In fact in the discussion that code came from the original poster actually tried in python but unsuccessful. he even uploaded the source code. I think I start from there, but I don't know anything about python. If you don't hear from me for week, that's because I am learning the language. Thank god ...

Re: Raspberry pi and Parallax Propellor

I have decided it best to use UART fro the communication between pi and propellor. I would like to know if there is any good posts with samples of UART code or a website with samples. I would like links please.

I will still need code for both UART and using the USB port on the Pi end no matter which I use. Examples or links to examples would appreciated

Re: Raspberry pi and Parallax Propellor

unfortunately as explained in my first post, the sole purpose of adding the Pi to my robot is to use open CV or some other vision library that propeller simply could not run, which means likely I am going to use a web cam were are primarily as far as I know usb based. Is there a way to address multi...
