If you download the 1.11 version using svn, and you build it on the pi after apt-get install m4, it runs for me. I did a (+ 2 2) in the REPL and got back 4!

Re: problem with overscan + no root access

Please make a new thread. Your problem is different from the OP and it only leads to confusion. This is the title of the thread: "problem with overscan + no root access". Given that the answer to my question a problem with overscan is yes or no, I think there is room for limited confusion. Now if p...

Hi teacher, yes, I built this clock. What do you mean it doesn't look like a clock? Yes, it's a clock. The FBI is on their way? Will Obama later invite me to the White House to try to smooth things over?

sorry stderr, I'm not writing the file, I'm changing the variables value. You kept referring to files, so I thought that is the way you wanted to do this. Does omxplayer ignore the overscan settings because I set them and the boot process showed things correctly on the left of the screen, I could see them, but then I ran a video with text, which was why I knew there was a problem, and the left bits were cut off.

I have tried with and without the 24 in the Port box. Any help would be appreciated. If you get mobaxterm, it gives you a normal prompt which you can ping and ssh from as you would on the pi. All you should have to do is ping 192.168.1.101 and see if that works and then ssh user@192.168.1.101 where...

I can import and reference variables stored in a file from more than one python script. Of course you can, but you seem to be saying is that you are going to have various scripts *changing* the file at the same time. If it's just a text file, how can you open it for writing from pi A and pi B at th...

Programs will write the values to this file and then re-read them. How do the programs know that they can open the file for writing, I mean if more than one program is writing to a single file? Are they going to try, fail, wait, try again, wait, finally succeed? If you have a file for each variable...

Well, I don't fancy building my own distribution panel with a number of USB sockets soldered together If I was running off the main box's power supply, after making sure I was well within spec, I'd probably just use splitters and Molex power to microUSB cables. Of course I'd have to find such a thi...

Re: reading file from rpi1 with rpi2

The var_store.py file would be kept on the 'master' pi (RPI2) and read from by RPI1. This is where I am stuck. I need a method that will allow RPI1 to see values on RPI2 and be able to modify them. I would think you could just store the values in a file in a directory that was on the tmpfs. You cou...

sudo apt-get clean should free up some space. You know how when it says, "After this operation, X kB additional disk space will be used" or mercifully less space used? It would be nice if it also said how many more megs you will be using *during* the install at the point of maximum usage. Right now...

I see several on the market and they often cite an "intelligent sensing" of the device type connected to adjust the charging level.
