When I use the leafpad& command I get a seperate window that isn't really a GUI. It kind of resembles the mac finder but looks way more old school and it shows the files in my Pi. After a long battle, I finally was able to log into my Pi from my Macbook (10.8.2) using XQuartz/X11.

My problem now is that I don't know how to launch the Raspbian GUI.
