.... Since this NAS is exclusively meant to support my mediabox I hook my RPi directly into a USB port on the mediabox for power (using a micro USB to USB A cable). I connect my external HDD case to an USB port of the RPi (for data) and to a second USB port on the mediabox (for power) using a Y cab...

1) use the hdmi next to the power
2) boot it clean - enable ssh on it
3) find it's ip address via your dhcp server
4) ssh in and do a tvservice -s

why not not water .... unless oyu are getting it to boining point [any liquid] then it's not going to help much unless it's pumped

I though the vector graphic systems where about 1024x1024 sized not infinite because of the size of the scan or I may be confused

no - havingf an sdcard in 2 devices at the same time will not work.

have a player setup to play only from a samba share and arrange that as read only etc ....
