Re: CAN controller

Hey, yes, you are right. By accident I copied the driver out of a trunk I had, and checked it together with some other stuff in my "troubleshooting folder". Now I checked in the kernel - everything is included. I think I gonna lay it aside for a couple of days, maybe it is just some minor thing... T...

Re: CAN controller

Hello, Zeta, thank you very much for you efforts. Appreciate it! Sorry, of course you need to set the bitrate. :) Today I had the possibility to test with another node. As I expected after reading Zeta's comment it didn't help. However, it was quite usefull: I can receive without any problems. But t...

Re: CAN controller

Hello, I still have a lot to learn about the CAN bus and its driver. For example, how did you set it in Loopback mode ? Do you know if this is implemented at the SocketCAN level or if it's at the MCP2515 level ? The Controller is set to loop back mode over a register of the mcp 1525 through its driv...

Re: CAN controller

Hello, I wish all of you a happy new year. Zeta, thanks for the reply, got it. I found the problem: the ribbon wire was too long (20 cm). I am working now with a pretty short one and everything seems to be fine, with HDMI, S-Video as well as SSH. Unfortunatelly I ran into the next problem: The mcp25...

Re: CAN controller

Hey Gerd, thank you very much for your quick answer. That is weird, looks like you might be right. I just don't get it, I integrated the module in the kernel and loaded it, doublechecked with lsmod. Trying adding it I got the answer RTNETLINK answers: Operation not supported I never had the idea to ...

Re: CAN controller

Hello, first of all I would like to thank all of you for the great help, especially bertr2d2 and maddin1234. I started three month ago without any basic knowledge about unix/debian/linux, never worked in a terminal and wanted to get SocketCAN integrated and running on my system (still working on it)...
