Re: TV (dvb-t) or raspberry pi. IT WORKS but S

I've used TVHeadEnd & pidvbip with good results - both server & client working on the same Pi with the UK's SD Freeview (mpeg2).

See http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... ip#p152031

Supports soft mpeg2 & GPU accelerated mpeg2 & h264.

Firefox (sudo apt-get install iceweasel) will play mjpeg streams, albeit without GPU acceleration.

I've since seen this behaviour (lapsing to 8k ints/sec) on #148 and now again on #160. This is with Raspi hooked up to a Lapdock with no USB peripherals other than the Lapdock's internal hub/HID devices.

Re: 8000 interrupts per second when idle!

Yep, In the process of debugging this issue, it looks like the traffic is fairly normal for that device (I've also got a FTDI serial device and have snooped the packets with the USB analyser and the traffic looks the same on the Pi as it does on the PC) Unfortunately the problem here is the process...

It seems that on my #114 system dwc_otg interrupts revert to 8000/sec after some time. Haven't spotted what triggers this yet. Anybody else seeing that?

Re: Rev2 boards are here!

Perhaps a better solution over mounting the P5 header on the underside would be to install a header with longer pins on the top side. Might just be sufficient height for this in existing cases - surely better than having to employ an extra-deep custom case.

Re: Rev2 boards are here!

Read the initial front page announcement mahjongg, Eben/Liz's words: "connector clash" which requires the mounting of the header on the underside. My post tried to address the nature of this connector clash - go back & read my original post in answer to arm2 in full, not as quotemined above.

Re P5 and CASES "... suitable attachment point for third-party clock and audio codec boards, and is pinned to be mounted (ideally) on the underside due to connector clash" Errr I don't think I've seen a single case that could cope with any board mounted underneath! Unless P5 is between two connecto...

Re: 8000 interrupts per second when idle!

I've a headless Raspi dedicated to use as a security camera system running motion with one network camera. Pi ticks along @ ~20% CPU & ~500 interrupts/sec with kernel #102 & fiq fix. But when I start another app (oscam) using FTDI FT232R USBSerial, interrupts hit 36000/sec :o & motion CPU usage jump...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

I've addressed the lid-close power-dip / reset issue by taking 5V for the Pi from the Lapdock's internal USB supply rail. There's a (relatively) large capacitor between the two USB ports which is easy enough to solder a wire onto. Behaviour is then: Lid closed -> power off, battery saving. Lid open ...

Finally got round to trying the script - works flawlessly. Thanks again.

I did have an issue copy/pasting the init script from Raspbian/Midori - rogue C2 A0 hex characters appeared after line breaks and between spaces, stopping he script from running. Copy/pasting from Chromium and all is well :D

Re: Wifi support broken in Raspbian wheezy??

Unless the dongle is one of the power-sipping "nano" types, then you'll need to use an external powered USB hub, as the Pi's USB ports supply just 100mA each unmodified. If you've already done that, then you could try this: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8670&p=128395#p126712...

Re: I made a Raspberry PI Laptop

For those struggling to get WiFi working, user Robpol86 has posted a fix to kill the Pi's ethernet. No need to desolder the chip now as godfather89 has done! My EW-7811 is working in the Pi's second USB & the Lapdock ports with this fix: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8670&p=...

Awaiting cables here too, but in the mean time I've set about modding the lapdock. Drawing inspiration from godFather89's effort, but not posessing the same levels of surgical skills or inclination to hack the Pi, I propose to mount the Pi like this: docked.jpg The Pi's a neat fit this way round. Re: Pi does physics better than I though it would!

Hi Chris all built fine with latest tips & running at last - thanks!

I know there's a huge amount more to it than the old boing demo but it recreated a similar "wow" reaction - for me at least. Hope it'll do the same for my son too ;-).

All that CPU/GPU action certainly warms the Pi a tad!

Hi Chris.

I'm using Mike's original Pisces image with regular apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, & rpi-update. Hopefully someone will pitch in with a solution (to what is but a minor issue). Regards.
