Re: Reading Audio stream for FFT

Hi there, I've read the whole thread and the attached links but couldn't come to a conclusion: is there sample code anywhere that allows to read what the pi's audio is playing via ALSA and feed it into the FFT? I'm working part-time on Moode Audio and would sure love to add an spectrum analyzer to t...

Re: SD Card Backup and Custom Image...

When booting the cloned image I'm receiving various Input/Output errors and the image does not come up. fsck complains about unexpected inconsistency.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I know this is ages old, but the problems are still with us in kernel 3.10: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/574

Did anybody find a solution yet?

Re: Pi as a pulse counter - Edge triggered events from GPIO

Hi, I've stumbled across this thread looking for a configurable/ extendable GPIO event counter tool, preferably in Python. I'm too lazy/ short on time to write one and need a solution to count my custom sensor events before putting them into the metering app. Any ideas? As for metering I can highly ...

Re: Read-only files system error - corrupt?

I'm having the save problem now. Put my pi through apt-get update && upgrade, then shutdown -r now. After that it won't come up- same Edimax WLAN adapter. The SD card also won't come up in another Pi. By won't come up I mean that the system boots but WLAN doesn't start. Hooking in via LAN shows that...

Same problem here. Ran fine for 6 weeks, dead on reboot. start.elf had become rouge. Suspecting recent rpi-update but not sure.

GPIO low/high voltage ranges?

My question is simple, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere- what are the defined voltage ranges for low and high GPIO signals?

For [email protected] those would be LO <= 0.8V and HI >= 2,0V

Are those correct?

I'd like to add the question of what a safe voltage is for the 3.3V raspi GPIOs. How much is too much?

Re: pwm with wiringPi Python?

cool,
you'll need to show some interest and engagement in resolving your problems. If you expect people to help you you'll need to explain what you've done and in which way it has failed. A simple cry for "doesn't work, tell me exactly how" most often doesn't work.

Cheers,

Re: MCP23017 driving me nuts...

ARGHH!!

SOLVED: tearing my setup down I've noticed that the MCP wasn't pressed into the breadboard entirely- leading to flaky connection. Works like a charm now wiring RESET to +3.3V via 10k resistor.

THANKS!

MCP23017 driving me nuts...

I'm trying to run an MCP23015 I2C port expander on my pi. Using pi cobbler I've wired, Vss to ground, Vdd to 3.3V, A0-2 to ground and connected SDA and SCL. Result: i2cdetect turns up blank... Experimenting with the RESET line I found that I can get the 23017 to show up on 0x20 when I touch the rese...

LCD python library - I2C and SPI

If anybody is interested in driving one of the adafruit SSD1306 OLEDs using python, I've thrown together a library at https://github.com/andig/AdaPi . It supports both SPI (untested) and I2C. Please note that I'm not a python expert, but it's working for me. Large parts are based on https://github.c...

Re: Newbie: using photo diode on GPIO for power meter readin

RE1 and Pot1 are used to adjust the working point of the photo diode, RE2 and 3 are there to setup minimum input voltage for second amplifier to avoid it opening on floating input.

Re: Newbie: using photo diode on GPIO for power meter readin

I've found a solution! :D Using an inverting op amp with offset voltage provided by mini trimmer I'm able to adjust working point of the photo diode. 100nF capacitor between output and inverting input further increases stability. For control purposes I've also added LED to the breadboard, however dr...
