same problem with overexposing and motion here. im about to give up
Do you get the same problems using raspistill/raspivid when outputting YUV?

It's odd, because the output format has no influence over the exposure - its done after all the camera image processing has taken place.

Thank you for your answer, so in GUI I can run strached video?
Not sure. I think so on the Pi4 but you would need to try it.

Re: RPi 4 - Dual screen in CLI

Thanks for your answer. I want to play video for example, resolution 3840x1080 on two screens (extended), but in CLI. The H264 decoder cannot handle that width - are you planning to do normal 1920x1080 and stretch it? Yes, i want to strech it but also i want to play videos with 3840x1080. Thanks On...

Re: RPi 4 - Dual screen in CLI

I need to play one video on two screens with omxplayer, but without GUI. Right now im using PiWall, so for 2 screens i use 3 Rpi's . The same video on both screens, or different videos? omxplayer won't allow you to replicate the video on both screens directly, but the underlying components will. At...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 temperature

I connected a brand new RaspI 4 with 4GB and 32GB microSD card and official charger in an official box and after 10 minutes working it show up in the right upper corner of the TV a small red thermometer. The RaspI was very hot. What are your recommendations? New FW available, remove the top cover o...

If you reflash your bootrom 100k times, you are doing something wrong.

Also note, this part could change at any point, including size. We do not guarantee it will remain the same.

Nice!

That is it: long live to ours 3B+! Raspbian buster make it even better. Maybe one day Pi4 will have enough love as 3B+ has

Best regards,
We do try to ensure that work we do is, where applicable, is done for all models. Plenty of love to go round, just short of time!

Re: Best OS for raspberry pi as a everyday desktop?

Raspbian. No question. The most update to date, best bug fixed, best featured, and the only one fully supported by Raspberry Pi themselves. Raspbian is the overall best choice, but "most update to date" applies mostly to drivers etc. When it comes to applications, not so much. You should have used ...

hdmi_timing/hdmi_group/hdmi_mode in FKMS changes ready, but need to got through the process to be released into the wild. Kernel side is https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/3082, but it's not going to do much without the firmware side. Pi4, DPI (via VGA666) @ 1080p, HDMI0 @ 1080p. https://dri...

Re: Pi4 - custom dual display configuration

On the RPI3 I could operate two WXGA (1280*800) side by side. I'm assuming you mean Rpi3 with legacy drivers (I'm also running on a RPi3). That would have been using Xinerama and have had no hardware acceleration using the 3D hardware. Xinerama also has to do a load of extra work as objects get dra...

Hi all. I am having trouble finding the 4gb version in EU. What online shop have them available to order? Or at least pre order with a known delivery date other than "September"? Thanks! We are making the 4GB as fast as we can, but demand is outstripping supply, so you might have to wait a bit. Jus...

New AWB algorithm - NoIR camera support

For some weeks the firmware has been using a new AWB algorithm that no longer uses the quad processors in the GPU. This change was needed to support the Pi4. On the whole this produces results similar to the original algorithm. However, there is a difference when using the NoIR camara. Using the def...

Re: New RPI 4 running Debian buster - hardly anything works

Thanks for the mostly helpful and the one unhelpful reply. Is there another Distro I could try? It's not the distro, but I suspect something Freecad is doing to initialise the GL system. We should now be MESA/DRM compliant with the FKMS graphics driver, but there possibly a fault in there somewhere...
