Re: Remove the wireless card

All this talk of the Pi2. The Pi2 is just an incremental model. It has no WiFi/BT becasue it came before WiFi/BT was added. It came before the PiZeroW and the Pi3 simples. Pi2 released Feb 2015 a year later P3 with the first WiFi/BT onboard Feb 2016 and another year later the Zero gained WiFi/BT Fe...

I'm inclined to lock this thread as another pie in the sky wish list.

But I really want to know what possible reason the OP can have for needing 32GB of RAM.

Re: omx player video playback of 1920x1080 files at 59.94i

There only appears to be one 1080i60 mode in the firmware, CEA mode 5.

So I suspect you will need to define a custom mode. You need to know all the timing parameters of the device you are plugging in to to define one.

Re: Dreaming about the future ....

Does anyone have any sales figures for the 8GB Pi4 which many said was more RAM than could possibly be used! If the fact that the 8GB model is out of stock everywhere is anything to go by, and the SoC can address 16GB, my guess is one day ..... I think it was mentioned that the Pi4B8 launched with ...

Not sure the dreaming will help. And what on earth are you doing that needs 16GB of RAM. I've got a brand new Mac Mini here, that only has 8GB, and I don't use anywhere nr that.

Move the wireless mouse receivers away from the Pi, using perhaps a short extension cable, and see if that helps.

Almost certainly not possible without a huge amount of work, and even then maybe not possible at all.

Re: Will Apple's move to ARM chips lead to more Apps for Raspberry Pi?

The chip is fairly irrelevant when compared to the services and API that the OS presents. Whilst a compiler for a HLL takes in to account the destination CPU architecture, code written for Mac's will use MacOS calls. Those don't exist on, for example, Linux on the Pi. Although MacOS is similar to Li...

I suspect you need a pull up resistors somewhere - the voltages may well be floating around without it giving spurious signals

Re: Has anyone got a laptop eGPU to work using a Mini PCI-E Hat?

I don't think that HAT will work with a graphics card - it's designed for very slow (in comparison) LTE modems, and must connect to the Pi via GPIO, not PCIe, so no real bandwidth to the Pi at all.

Re: Fixing incorrect undervoltage warnings

I think you need to try another Pi4. If you get the same issue, then it is something to do with your power supply. If the problem goes away its a HW fault on your specific board. I would suggest trying an official PSU first. As far as we know the PSU Is the only no-standard part of the system so th...

Re: Fixing incorrect undervoltage warnings

So, ensure your cable is good (thick copper - measure the resistance to confirm) and your power supply is set to 5.1v. Every single undervolt warning I've ever had on a Pi was due to bad connections/insufficient conductors. It happens multiple different USB cables, even with the ones that can nicel...

Re: Fixing incorrect undervoltage warnings

That thread's about powering via USB, and also about a Raspberry Pi 3B+. There's no overlap with what you're seeing. I disagree, unexplainable undervoltage warnings are a rather big overlap. What else is plugged into your Raspberry Pi 4? Issue happens even when nothing is plugged in. Not unexplaine...

I think it will work. What does your adapter look like?
It's a small USB-C to microUSB adapter, similar to what you get with USB-C phones, except the port adaptation is from USB-C female to microUSB male.

Yari
That should work fine.

What are the devices you are using? Are they all the same, is there a specific one that stops the boot, or does it have to be all three? Do you also have keyboard/mouse plugged in to the USB?

@DougieLawson I stumble upon more issue, the VNC viewer wouldn’t reconnect after a couple of minutes it just don’t work, but it work fine for the first few minutes from fresh boot, I believe it’s the WiFi wouldn’t reconnect automatically, hence I was resorted to shutdown by using keyboard combo wit...

Re: no scp between new rpi 4B's

There was a QoS bug a while back in the wireless stack that IIRC had similar symptoms. I wonder if it has resurfaced. I'll try and remember what mitigation's were done.

What's odd is that no-one else has seen the problem, which might means it is very specific to something on your network.

Re: Fixing incorrect undervoltage warnings

I've just recently noticed that my RPi4 is throwing undervoltage warnings into syslog, but it makes nearly zero sense. It's powered by a lab bench power supply with additional filtering capacitors. Even if I bypass the USB port the warning appears. How is undervoltage detected on the RPi and is the...

Re: Only had my Pi 4 for a week, crashes/hangs multiple times a day

Odd. A Pi4 2GB should handle that sort of load easily. What does Alt+PrtScr + R + E actually do? Not a key sequence I am familiar with. Its is also odd that it hits high temps so quickly even in a case. Is your OS up to date, ie what did you install and when? Have you updated to the latest releases....

Re: How does sudo apt-get / update effect the pi?

There is no way an update on one SD card could affect the other one, and on the Pi3 there is no EEPROM to update that might cause an effect over the two SD cards. So this is officially weird. One thing, you should use sudo apt full-upgrade rather than just upgrade, but since I am unfamiliar with the...

Re: Very magenta picture from NOiR camera when only light source is infrared

If you are stuck with a library or application that doesn't support greyworld, then add "awb_auto_is_greyworld=1" (without the quotes) to config.txt. It does as it implies, and switches "auto" awb mode to select "greyworld" instead. That should be in firmware since March. Thanks for that informatio...
