Re: Torrent client for Raspberry Pi

Stop the daemon before you edit the config file and then start it again.

Re: USB to Class 2 Audio USB DAC comm issues

Yes, though I don't see that as a very big issue since I barely have any 24/192 files (and don't really see the point in having), and even if the output frequency is limited to 96kbps the few 24/192 files I have play just fine as well (~80% cpu usage). There are however other obvious drawbacks when ...

Re: USB to Class 2 Audio USB DAC comm issues

Adding dwc_otg.speed=1 to /boot/cmdline.txt, as explained in one of the threads linked to in the inital message, finally pretty much resolved this issue for me. I haven't had time to fully experiment and I've noticed some occasional cracks but nothing like before and 24 bit flac is definitely listen...

Re: Writing on the Raspberry Pi

The distro won't matter that much for that purpose since all common text editors are available for most of them, but I'd say go for the recommended Raspbian. If you want something similar to Notepad there is leafpad (installed) and gedit (in the main repositories), if you want something even "simple...

Re: Can't see links

We're expecting a few tweaks from Paul in the next little while; this is top of the list! It's being looked at quite soon - the website dude has been busy on other stuff. Not to be rude but, seriously, if it takes ~5 months to fix (well, it hasn't been fixed yet) a one line css problem that is "on ...

Re: Hello, Advice Required

So, you pasted the contents of https://rktmb-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/xml-openbox-config/lxde-rc.xml to /home/pi/.config/openbox/lxde-rc.xml and it still gives the same error message, that the start tag "<" is missing on line 1 or are you getting some other error? Also do a sudo apt-get upda...

Re: Running Python Script from Bash Script

Glad that you worked it out :)

Using start-stop-daemon is probably a good way to start and stop the script, I don't think it's as far "over your head" as you might think. Here's a template that will get you started: http://homepage.hispeed.ch/py430/python/daemon

Re: Running Python Script from Bash Script

Try to put it on a new line right after

Code: Select all

### END INIT INFO
and then reboot and check the logfile.

Re: Running Python Script from Bash Script

It is possible that it is started before some other required service is started. Try to add the "debug code" at the end of my last reply to the init script and see if you can get any messages from that.

Re: Running Python Script from Bash Script

So the bash script now works when run manually? sudo /etc/init.d/script start And sudo update-rc.d script defaults doesn't produce any error? Check that the script isn't running: ps aux | grep scriptname Then try to add exec > /tmp/debug-my-script.txt 2>&1 at the beginning of the startup script and ...

Re: Wifi troubles

Could be the dongle or the drivers for it, could be the router. Have you used the network with other devices? For HD streaming you should consider a wired connection anyway, 2-3Mb/s won't get you very far.

Re: Apache2 wont restart

If you want to edit the configuration files you need to do that as root (using sudo), for example: sudo nano /etc/apache2/apache2.conf or gksudo leafpad /etc/apache2/apache2.conf There are several guides to setting up an Apache server, see for example http://wiki.debian.org/LaMp . I would also recom...
