Re: Timeframe for USB C power board revision

and you think that's gonna change something when you use a 'apple PSU' (it's not only apple, they're just the famous ones)? USB-C is rated up to 3A at 5V, even the 'apple charger' wont change that. They just go to higher voltage when delivering more juice which would need a power management IC (PMI...

Re: Timeframe for USB C power board revision

0.5g is not small amount of salt. Come on - we need USB boot fixed! Oh, sorry - wrong topic! Or, should I start with 'take it all with pinch of salt'? Now seriously: You wouldn't need to do that with an external adaptor. Just cut one of the two wires in the USB and connect that via the one resistor ...

Re: How to use nRF24 via CH340T serial-to-USB converter?

I think you'll need to slowly build up your knowledge of nRF24L01 first, then translate it to that board. Hints are here: https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=410574.30

Unless you find library which is doing same or similar to RF24 library in python. If you do - please share it here! :)

Re: Citrix will not do dual screen it will only chose one screen

I don't think that's Raspberry Pi issue. It would be the way 'full screen' or such is handled in Linux. Having said that - there must be someone here who would understand it better (currently I am just too lazy to go and do internet search for you). Key words are dual monitor, X windows, Linux, mayb...

Re: Raspberry Pi Cluster Computer?

What architecture could be designed so just buying another "module" and plugging it in increases the processing power? Can we design and make them on Pi's? What computing language is needed? Use $1 FPGA's that just add together like LittleBits? That would be interesting project to play with: 'mothe...

Re: Battery Level Indicator -- While Charging

Voltage level is afaik a valid method of evaluating a lipo cells charge. Battery charging involves applying a target voltage which will be higher than the undercharged battery voltage. during charging the battery voltage will rise to that of the charge voltage until it hits its peak at 4,2v iirc vo...

Re: Battery Uptime

Hello, I'm testing a battery with a pi 3 - intention is to run it flat and see how long it will power the pi for. Is there an easy way to see uptime on the pi AFTER the battery dies and I plug it into the mains again? Running battery flat is usually a bad idea (for the battery). Maybe you should ge...

Re: Pi 3 A +. What is it for?

By way of some perspective, think about this: If you start writing software, in Python or whatever, at a young age and you do it tenaciously everyday for your entire life you will be hard pressed to have written 10MB of code before you drop dead at the keyboard. That leaves almost 500MB of space in...

Re: Raspberry Pi Cluster Computer?

Actually - I was considering having two Pis (due to memory constraints of one): one connected to monitor and keyboard running X windows and another on network using first as X terminal. Also, first (with SSD) would share disk over nfs (at least /home if not more!). That way I would be able to decide...

Re: Help installing JDownloader2 on Raspberry Pi 3

It is coming with wrong jre packged in tar.gz... If you really want to install it I would suggest do it somehow yourself using existing jre on the Raspbian itself. To give you head start - you can extract tar.gz file from downloaded sh file (x86 version) with: tail -c 52745465 ../JD2Setup_x86.sh > s...

Re: Using the pi as my main computer

There is somewhere on the forums, an adapter board that uses multiple RPis, been a while since I saw it, but something like that might work - but it would be easier to wait for the RPi4 to get all its software & drivers sorted out, & use a 4GB version - that should run pretty good, once sorted. 8-)...

if the board provides a microcontroller in addition to the chg340 usb to serial chip, it could be programmed (my first email suggested using an arduino) to do the serial to spi conversion
You could probably re-program it - but why since it's already coming with fully implemented solution?

Re: How to use nRF24 via CH340T serial-to-USB converter?

LOL - too much disinformation floating here... spi requires a clock signal, which is NOT available on a serial port. Of course it does and µController on CH340T board will provide one. I was never saying that TX and RX lines from serial are directly connected to MOSI and MISO lines :P Of course you ...

Re: How to use nRF24 via CH340T serial-to-USB converter?

Huh - my previous post has gone missing. Never mind - gist was as following: I think (*think*) serial here is used instead of SPI - actually adapter sends everything it received from serial to SPI relaying back all (in turn) received back from SPI(*) Also, one of control serial lines CTS/RTS or DTR/...
