Howto: rescue corrupt data partition?

cannot find howto, using wheezy, was working, believe loose connection may have resulted in corrupted partition. had been using at time... troubleshooting wiki: only red light is on and steady other cards boot fine. boot partition /dev/sdb1 mounts fine in other linux or osx system and appears to be ...

Re: uart comms in C

this all wfm but...

it seems one needs to run minicom first, then quit else program hangs.
ie after reboot

why might this be?

gdb -e run produces no output in the case of hang.

change name from pi to & then...

at some time I set up a user other than pi, on an SD card.

is there a simple means to ensure that all the auto settings for pi apply to this other user?

Re: How to send data between RPis: JSON?

In C++, you may find similar one such as http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/9524/RMI-for-C

this relies on boost, which I had hoped to avoid...

How to send data between RPis: JSON?

Can anyone point to or provide a simple example of sending data between two Raspberry Pis? data could be a simple json text string: {"hello":"world"} or {"mass":3, "time":"now"} or even a couple of numbers, if there is a really simple way? these could be connected by direct ethernet or similar, so n...

thanks for your prompt response,

afaict 'works for me' using:
mmal_video_record > test2.h264

looking forward to your further comments and patches

how to set length of time to record?

anyway now I have to go away and understand a bit better....

howto add after-effects to video

has anyone links to simple introductions to adding text and graphics to video?
particularly C++ but any could be of use.

ie given test.h264, or test.mp4 how to edit frame by frame...

only simple intros, no lengthy complex process....

probably not on the RPI, but linux wheezy please!

This is a really exciting development and I really do hope tasanakorn can help resolve this issue with video_record on github: https://github.com/tasanakorn/rpi-mmal-demo/issues/3 The excellent example on youtube has no motion which may in part explain 23fps my experience with motion ~0.5fps however...

in particular timelapse support.

jamesh is it an error to imagine that YUV data straight from the sensor should be able to be blat or piped at >2fps and perhaps even 90fps for some formats?

jamesh, raspiyuv should be able to pipe or blat the data out at 90fps for some format surely? without -tl this is hard to test... with no processing where is the constriction? else how to improve frame rate? as per title that is the guide I seek... I did try -w 640 -h 480 with no improvement afaict.

I hope to be head-butting this next week,

can anyone clarify relation of Raw to YUV?

eg I had thought YUV was already available as an option

or YUV generally has 2xY plus U and V,
similar to two green or luminance detectors plus 2 colour detectors U and V
