redis-server issues

sudo apt-get redis-server

but my experience was rather poor,
it works, but does not save data or a log
so all data is lost on reboot

could anyone else confirm, or comment?

Re: Foundation Camera Board information

there is no autofocus,
as focus is fixed.

lens can be physically unscrewed, once glue is removed, to enable macro facility.

pigpio servo: getter & digital

Joan et al, is there any way to get the current servo setting? situation where many commands are sent quickly, servo is lagging, one wants to know where it is. how does digital servo use pigpio? digital appears to offer enhanced accuracy at higher current. 300-400hz compared to 50hz many thanks Jona...

I'm currently working on raspivid,

how do I check why .bashrc appears no longer to be running? was working fine, but for some reason no longer seems to be running my script... script is executable, can be run and is in place. similar script, and .bashrc run fine on another RPi ps ax reveals some differences, which I don't understand,...

I have not yet set any bitrate in any tests,

from my reading bitrate sets a limit, is that correct?
ie you cannot get a better quality using bitrate,

Best SD card for raspivid?

has anyone run tests using raspivid? under different lighting conditions? with high deltas? it would be useful to have some SD card ratings. for both continuous and random access use on the RPi I wasn’t happy with my video, it was excellent, but with artefacts. wanted to check if SD may be the cause...

Re: userland: segfault dc4?

It's code based on Tsanakorn's mmal code:
https://github.com/tasanakorn/rpi-mmal- ... ee/develop

afaik without my edits, it's not reproducable,
currently reverting out of this code,
but can run tests as required

figured the dc4 might be indicative,
