What is it that the recommended image contains?

The Raspbedrry Pi website describes Raspbian “wheezy” as the image we recommend you use. There is a summary of its contents, but no further information is given here. Looking at the Debian “wheezy” Release Information , the Debian wheezy package seems to differ in its contents to the Rasbian wheezy...

no obvious way to get back to the option which you have just checked Yes, I also found that one way function! I think this post was the one that helped me back. http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=19901 It says: If this menu is not available when you right-click the desktop, you can start...

Re: Cannot find IDLE

Yes, the big raspberry is the LXDE screen. You should have IDLE icons visible. However, you should also be able to find IDLE by clicking on the small LXDE button, which looks like a dove, at the bottom left corner. This should open menues with a whole load of choices.

After logging in at the console, enter the word startx then use the return key. That will start the LXDE desktop. IDLE choices should appear on the desktop.

very nice ! keep going ! so do you use the REST API ? It cannot handle multiple change in one single POST request for now :( I will use the same JSON notation as the full state getter (GET /*) I'm still hoping that client side processing will not be necessary. Thank you. The Raspberry Pi browsers do not allow me access to user profile, but using a Windows PC I found under "Board preferences" an entry "Summer Time/DST is in effect: Yes No". Setting it to "No" I now have the right time when I log on.

Forum clock stuck on DST? [solved]

The footnote says "All times are UTC [ DST ]" Does this mean DST is always 1 hour ahead of GMT? I understood that DST was over for the winter.

Edit: If I remove all cookies, all times change to GMT

Idle3. No horizontal scroll bar in edit window.

Is this normal?
I have to re-size the window to check whether there is text beyond the border.
Having a scroll bar would make program writing more easy.

WebIOPi : using html forms and CGI

Thank you for making your creation "webiopi" available. For me it epitomises what the pi is all about; an fun way to learn programming, networking and control. I have the Debian build on an SD card - so I will try that. If its like mine you may find that you need to do update, upgrade and rip-update before rebuilding from hello_pi. I had this on my first attempt after a "quick format" of the SD card.

I then re-formatted the SD card and all went well next time.
