Re: Account recovery
Hi, I'll look into this: in the meantime can you PM me with the orignal user ID and the email you used to register the original (to prove credentials) and I'll reset your password for that account. ta. [just to try and troubleshoot: had anyone been able to log in to the new forums with their "o...

Re: Please create new forum for "raspbian" under O.S. thanks
Would it also make sense to pull the entire armhf thread here http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=4256 into here too? ( I know it starts out deb, but is now really raspbian ) Perhaps this should be voted on? I wouldn't want to get shot for having a highly active thread moved!...

Re: Forum changes
Is the Announcement section for Official postings only? Are any of the headings moderated? i.e. need moderator approval before it appears publicly! That works very effectively for many announcement sections of newsgroups. I will need shortly to 'Announce' a new Raspberry Pi specific hardware item, ...

Re: Forum changes
but there may not be quite enough hints in the forum names to redirect feedback, requests and suggestions to their best locations. "RASPBERRY PI FOUNDATION-->Feedback and Requests" is a very strong attractor. I wonder if its scope could be narrowed in some way. Morgaine. The forums and su...

Re: Edit buttons gone astray?
Editing is only allowed within the first thirty minutes to stop people going back much later and editing their post to change meaning etc or even delete the whole content of a post. It's a pain for honest edits but we've found it necessary.

This looks like an excellent start, scep, good work! I'll try to provide feedback as experience brings things to light. It looks very usable, and the only omission I've detected so far is the lack of a catchall "Other hardware" forum under the "Hardware and peripherals" category...

My first impression reminded me of Mel Brooks' The Twelve Chairs (1970) where Ostap Bender and Ippolit Vorobyaninov go into a Soviet public building after hours to get information on the chairs. They go past innumerable bureaucratic doors including the "Bureau of Bureaus and Desks" before...

You may have noticed a slight change in the forum structure  Please bear with us as we split and copy over old threads into the relevant sections. We hope that the new structure makes it easier to find stuff and to get answers. We know that there are a lot of subforums, but this is a reflecti...

Re: Self-Contained MAME Machine
It doesn"t matter how old the games are, the copyright still stands as if it was made yesterday. Not so. In the UK, computer generated works are protected for 50 years after the end of the year in which the work was made. Most other stuff, including printed works, are author's death + 70 years...

Re: the teething troubles... (not the launch)
Having been working on a Pi remotely for over a month, and with one in front of me for five whole days (time flies when you're having fun! :) ), I'm of the firm opinion that it's perfectly fine for its intended use and when properly equipped with adequate peripherals ... In the end, it will be all ...
