Re: How to find out why I lost internet connectivity

The "journalctl" command will show you system messages related to all services and devices I believe.

"journalctl -b 0" gives you log for current boot, "journalctl -b -1" from previous boot.

It has a lot of options: https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/journalctl.1.html

Re: [RESOLVED] undefined reference to `tesseract::TessBaseAPI::TessBaseAPI()'

I think what PeterO was trying to insinuate is that since Tesseract is not listed here

Code: Select all

find_package( OpenCV REQUIRED )
.. then the variable used here:

Code: Select all

target_link_libraries(DisplayImage ${Tesseract_LIBRARIES})
.. is empty.

Re: [HELP] undefined reference to `tesseract::TessBaseAPI::TessBaseAPI()'

if you run make VERBOSE=1 We can see the actual gcc/g++ commands so its a bit easier to guess.. The key phrase to google is "error adding symbols: DSO missing from command line", but it seems like maybe direct reference to the .so file is missing from the linker command... my cmake knowledge is not ...

Re: Possible to use Kinect camera with Raspberry Pi?

should I just treat the Pi as I would any Pc with a Linux based os YES, first and mostly you should do this. The variations you should be aware of is - the CPU is ARM so any software built for x86/amd64 will not work. - and that "Raspberry Pi OS" is 98.34% Debian ;-) Putting the word "kinect" in th...

because we need the library for the accelerometer and the libraries for some servos, We are pretty new with this so we are unsure about mixing libraries and such. New kernel version I'm assuming.. did you compile the kernel modules previously ?
You just have to repeat that part of the process probably.

HDMI connector accessible to the user.
And this is the PiZs HDMI connector or does it belong to your electronics ?

What kind of "licence" are we talking about really ?

Re: Using accelerometer data to activate scripts

What about writing a script that reads the accelerometer data and then do "something" based on those data ? I think the critical part is getting the data, and for doing that it would be nice to know: - what kind of accelerometer we are talking about ? - how is it connected to the Pi ? - Which progra...

Re: Errors while trying to emulate raspberry on QEMU, details bellow!

Why do you have to run/emulate the Raspberry in Qemu ?
What will this give you that you need in your project ?

You could run https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/ra ... i-desktop/ in VirtualBox much easier ( and faster ) and it will give you the same development environment.

Its Google Assistant, its not a Google Home device which normally has all the integration with other service.

The project I know about with the most extra functionality is this one: https://github.com/shivasiddharth/GassistPi

Re: Dependency is not satisfiable: libqt5core5a (>=5.9.0~beta)

Just to make sure, you are doing this on PC (intel/amd) hardware ??? I dont have Ubuntu Mate but I would start with "apt-cache search libqt5core" and see what packages pops up. If Mate ( which release btw ? ) has a version of Qt5 and its higher than 5.9, you can make sure it is installed, and then y...

Re: Switch from ethernet to modem connection

I didnt suggest to use "nodefaultroute". The description indicate that if "nodefaultroute" is present in other config file it will disable "defaultroute". "defaultroute" has always been working for me when using pppd so I dont have mush else to contribute. Alternative is to use the "ip route" comman...

We are talking 5-10mA at 3V probably,I would say you need a very specialized MCU for this. Like one intended to be used in a NFC tag for example.

approximatively the same thing as waveshare so basically , refresh a e-paper by an NFC board , without any other power supply.
Sounds interesting, but I have no Idea what you are talking about so please provide some better explanations or some links.

Re: Switch from ethernet to modem connection

nodefaultroute
Disable the defaultroute option. The system administrator who wishes to prevent users from creating default routes with pppd can do so by placing this option in the /etc/ppp/options file.
Do you dial-up as root ?

Re: Switch from ethernet to modem connection

In the PPPD config file used for this dial-up, there is an option called "defaultroute" that automatically sets a new default route ( gateway ) when the ppp0 interface goes up.

Re: Switch from ethernet to modem connection

You change the "default" route to tell the networking stack in Linux to use one interface over another for "not-on-LAN" communication.

Show us results of "ip addr" and "ip route".

I think its because they all have a hardcoded ipaddress of 192.168.8.1, and so this is causing conflicts.
We would like to see your output of the "ip addr" command.
