Re: Updating Java on Raspbian from 1.7.0 to 1.8.0

In the oracle page linked they use jdk 1.8.0.
The last downloadable from oracle site is 1.8.0_20.
There is a way to handle Oracle JDK update automatically?

Re: No boot after reboot command

Power issue I think no, I'm running fine xbmc and jdownloader in the same time, performed some Overclock test to stress 100% cpu for a couple of hours.
Could be SDHC issue related.
Coul you give me more details regarding "boot_delay"?

No boot after reboot command

Hi use

Code: Select all

sudo shutdown -r now
to reboot my raspberry (after firmware update as example).
Often it hangs, no ssh connectivity, all the led on, nothing on the screen (no signal).
I must unplug and plug the power cord.
Why?
Is above command the right choice to gently reboot the raspberry?

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

Hi man, I used your compiled xmbc but now I have a problem with CEC. So I though to try to compile it. I followed the guide you suggested https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/wiki/Compiling-XBMC-&-XBMC-dependencies in this message http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=432961#p432961 All is...

RAMLog could be a solution but it will loose logs if power was unplugged.
I heard something regarding logs file synch with filesystem but I have to check.

Where put /var/log folder

Hi all, I'm coming back with an idea for /var/log folder. Log files are written often so sd card could not be the best place to store them; moving /var/log folder to external usb hdd could be a problem: I have an external powered hdd plugged so if the power source is interrupted and connected back a...

Re: Swap file/partition

I'm looking for moving the raspberry from swap file on sd to swap partition on an external USB HDD.
I created the swap partition and added it to fstab, now what are the right steps to disable swap file and enable swap partition?
