Re: unrar spanned archive

On windows I can unrar them as they are now, a.rar, a.part1.rar, a.part2.rar ..
You are suggesting to rename them in a.part1, a.part2 removing rar suffix?

Usb HDD - better file system

I have an usb hdd (NTFS) attached to the rasp connected to the router by wireless adapter.
I see that copy from another pc to the samba folder or via ftp is really slow.
How can I improve the speed? I must be able to access to this usb hdd also from windows 7.

Re: Play video stored on the rasp from remote pc

This is a remote interface to control remotely the play of something on the xmbc instance. It's not related to stream/push/play content from remote

Re: Play video stored on the rasp from remote pc

Ok, I'm going to check. So the key is to use DLNA.
I have also to find something to play video from dlna on my ubuntu.

Hi, I want to clean my rasp so I flashed the last Raspbian img.
Now I want to install xbmc.
There are newer precompiled files or the guide at this link is still valid to compile xbmc ?

Re: ext3/4 and SD-card wear leveling

A small question: due the fact that sd has wear problem why not use it only for root and use an external usb hdd drive for the os?
For sure it will be slower but for not intensive usage could be nice.
Suggestions?
