Re: What's the simple and safe way to do a "shutdown" button

Great!
I'll build the switch in the week end and test it. I just find out in the code the comment related to the GPIO port tu check for signal.
I must use the resistors? Why? I have only very basic knowledge on this kind of things (GPIO)

Thanks!

Re: Wake from halt

Is there any practical difference between this and the Reset pin P6 introduced on the Rev. 2 board. This scheme avoids reloading bootcode.bin, but otherwise the two schemes are pretty much identical (as long you have a rev2 board). So only reloading bootcode (with reset pin used in the video) is th...

Re: What's the simple and safe way to do a "shutdown" button

I'm interested in a shutdown and wake up switch. I used the last code posted in this thread, created a shutdown.py file with the code inside. Now I have to add the script call before the "exit (0)" in the rc.local and the software side is done? I must use the resistors? It could be hard to fit all i...

Re: Raspberry Pi Benchmarks

Using the & between programs, runs them all at the same time … A single ampersand would. Double ampersand is logical AND (to sh-like shells, at least) so it would run them sequentially until one failed. Thanks,I'm used to run command like ap-get update && apt-get upgrade and it works as I expect: w...

Re: Raspberry Pi Benchmarks

Thanks for the script.

Raspberry and other system (correct me if is not a feature of rpi but something related to the cpu/gpu) is able to scale the frequency when not user.
In config.txt you can set core_freq=x and core_freq_min=y

Re: status of java on raspbian.

I installed oracle jdk 8 to use hardfloat.
Now I red on the rpi site that jdk 7 is now ready for arm with hardfloat.
I follwed the instructions on the site, sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-jdk but the jdk8 is still
alive.
How can I un'install it?

Re: Updated GPU firmware

I usually try to upgrade mi raspberry fw once a month.
I know that in the past the CMA (automatic memory split) was implemented but I had problems in the beginning.
How can I enable it today?
And about F2FS? How can I take advantages from this fs on the rasp?

None, my settings are lost but doesn't matter, starting from now I'll run xbmc not with sudo.

At the first start xbmc asked me for a password to check for update, what is it?

Re: Two XBMC (.deb) compiled/prepared for users + instructio

Thanks again.
Yes, maybe once I run xbmc as root but I'm quite confident not each time.
But no problem, I fixed files permission. Xbmc starts fine now.

I'm at work now, so this evening I'm going to try to run xbmc with fixed permission on $HOME/.xbmc folder ad I'll update this post.

Thanks

But is too difficult to provide a guide to compile XBMC with only CEC support?
I tried many time following this guide http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianXBMC but every time something went bad
