Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Hi.
Sorry about your problems, for me piCorePlayer can be playing for days without problems.

Are you connected via LAN or WiFi?

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Hi dipole

That is strange therefore I need to ask you two questions:
1. Are you connecting from another computer using putty via a LAN cable?
2. Are you using version 06?
The previous versions had user=tc and password=nosoup4you

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Thanks. But you know that you did not have to edit that line manually? If you use the set-up script, then option 4 will allow you to change all the settings for the Squeezelite, that is the name, the output, the MAC adress the amount of ALSA buffer etc. You start the script by writing "picoreplayer"...

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Thank you for your feed back.

I hope you used the setup script to change the name and the MAC address - option 4.

How did you do this: "Change the output from ALSA to Speaker (this sends the output to my USB DAC)"
I mean what commands did you use?

Thanks

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Hi Thank you for the info. I will try it out, and if I don't see any side-effects I will include your solution in the next version. It is strange how different our set-up works on a very similar back-ground (a raspberry and an USB DAC). I have never needed to make this audio group in order to use th...

Re: logitech media server poor quality

I'm pretty sure that the problem is not the Logitech media server, but the problem is our raspberry.

I have several logitech mediaplayers (Hardware - a Duet and a Radio) and I have no static comming out of these. I can sometimes hear a faint static comming from the raspberry (squeezelite)

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Hi Thank you for the interest - I don't know what happened with the links, but I will update them now. I have also made a new version piCorePlayer_V05. Hopefully, you will be able to boot this one. I have tested it several times, and it boots fine for me (but then, so did version 04). I have also im...

Hi Sorry for your problems. Just uploaded a new version piCorePlayer04 - I checked it by re-downloading from Rapidshare, burned it to a SD card, and booted my Raspberry without problems. New version of piCorePlayer (microcore squeezelite and WiFi

Hi A new version is ready. It is even smaller now (22 MB with wifi, linux and Squeezelite). The WiFi is working, and it has a set-up script to set-up both the WiFi as well as a USB-DAC. You can get it from here: http://rapidshare.com/files/1129968650/piCorePlayer_v04.img I hope you will enjoy it - a...

Re: piCoPlayerV2 (26MB with WiFi, SSH, squeezelite and set-

I have occasionally got the Wi-Fi to connect with a Realtek based 150Mbit/s nano-dongle but issues include the following: 1. The dongle isn't always recognised. wifi.sh often reports no wi-fi devices. 2. wifi.sh never finds any networks the first time it scans. A second run usually does. Hi thanks ...

Re: piCoPlayerV2 (26MB with WiFi, SSH, squeezelite and set-

I was expecting the setup script to include Wi-Fi. :( Since it does not, what about some pointers in this thread on how to do that? wifi.sh seems to be the way but the whole setup seems very flakey compared to the previous version of piCoplayer which was rock solid. I need to spend more time on thi...

piCoPlayerV2 (26MB with WiFi, SSH, squeezelite and set-up)

Hi I have update the piCoPlayer. piCoPlayer is a dedicated player (like a Duet receiver) build on a small read-only linux (Microcore) and Triodes excellent Squeezelite player. It is now even smaller than the first version (26 MB in total). There is no writing to the SD-card and therefore no risk of ...

Re: piCoPlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Thanks for the info.

The reason my asking was to see if it is a problem with the microcore linux, or it is the squeezelite player that is the cause.
So can you use the card with squeezelite on another linux system, like the SqueezePlug from Truehl?

Hi Thomas

Good to hear that you will integrate the piCoPlayer with your Squeezplug system.
I have ordered a WiFi card, so hopefully with time we can get it to work via WiFi as well.

Thanks for trying the piCoPlayer.

Regarding your CM106 BOX, is it working with squeezelite in another system?
Does this box need special drivers for linux to work?

hi sorry for that. Unfortunately you still will need to set squeezelite up, depending of what USB card you are using. So you will need to log in via putty (user: tc, and password nosoup4you) and then follow the advise from the post of Gerrelt here: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?97803-...

piCorePlayer a dedicated microcore and squeezelite player

Hi I have build a very small dedicated player (the piCorePlayer) for our squeezebox system. It is meant to be running as a headless player. Hi Gordian 2 I tried to use your large rasp-logitech image. It is starting fine, the Logitech Media Server (LMS) is starting fine, however, Squeezeplay is not starting - and trying to start it via SSH by this command results in: pi@raspberrypi ~ $ /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh xvfb-run: error:...
