Re: btrfs-progs not working in Buster. Help requested.

FWIW, my pi syncs its ext4 rootfs to an external btrfs-formatted drive and takes a snapshot nightly. I haven't come across the issue you're describing.

Re: busted Buster repos for rpi0w

IIRC, you'll run into trouble with https on raspbian.raspberrypi.org. You may need to change it to archive.raspbian.org The pi0w is not any different. It runs the same image as all other pis, it uses the same software, same repos, same network stack. Are the other devices using wifi as well? I think...

Also, please don't add random keys like that. The image is already configured with all of the appropriate keys. If you're hitting a repo that's not using the ones already included, there's a bigger problem to address.

Re: VLC hard crashes

We normally don't update packages for previous releases, but given how recent Buster is, I've pushed out a VLC update for Stretch as well.

It should be public within about an hour.

Re: why xz format not used for distribution of raspbian images

Zip was chosen because it's natively supported by all major operating systems. That's a little less relevant now that zip64 support is required, but that's still much more common than xz support.

Re: Buster apt upgrade issue with rpi-chromium-mods (?)

It seems to fail at rpi-chromium-mods. What can I do to fix this? Looks like your filesystem got corrupted. Maybe take take the card out and run fsck on it from another system. Then run 'sudo apt clean' and try again. When I try to update the system it tells me that the following 3 packages can not...

It looks okay to me, but I haven't checked that it wasn't okay before upgrading.

Mesa 19.2.0-rc1 available for testing

This post may only be of interest to users running GL(ES) applications on a Pi 4 with FKMS enabled. This week, Mesa have announced a release candidate for the 19.2.0 release, which we would like to switch over to. https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/mesa-announce/2019-August/000536.html It fixes ...

Re: Is there a bug in raspi-config in Buster Lite?

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then it's an issue in Debian that they say should be fixed in the next point release. Something to do with caching layout name translations and then the lookup returning wrong values.

Re: Kodi 18.3 Leia for Raspberry Pi 4

raspbian.raspberrypi.org is maintained by plugwash. It's mostly a straight armv6 rebuild of debian. Those packages are usually only patched when it's required to build or run on an armv6 system. archive.raspberrypi.org is maintained by Raspberry Pi Trading and contains packages which aren't in Debia...

disable FKMS in config.txt by commenting out "dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d". The Mesa drivers for V3D will NOT run on Stretch Are you sure? I've been using that config setting since Raspbian Jessie for one specific program that will not run without it. Been working (mostly) fine since 2016 There's a dist...

Sounds like maybe some bad files were pushed to Raspbian with a newer timetstamp and then reverted, so apt thinks the bad update was okay. Raspbian repos aren't handled by us, so I have no idea. It would be interesting to see the content of one of the cached bad files to make sure there's nothing su...

Re: bash script command not found

That should've been './test.sh' (note the './') When you run a command, it will look in each directory in your $PATH. Since test.sh is in your current directory, which isn't in $PATH, it won't find it. You can use a full path, like /home/pi/test.sh, which would work, or you could give a relative pat...
