Re: Video lags in VLC (Raspbian Buster) in Raspberry Pi 2

Not a bug then, just a change in VLC's behaviour. That file is just a video bitstream without a container, so VLC has no FPS information, causing that stutter. If you stick it into a container, it should play as it did before.

Re: Video lags in VLC (Raspbian Buster) in Raspberry Pi 2

Are you using the .h264 file in /opt/vc or a proper download of Big Buck Bunny from somewhere else?

It may take some time for all the mirrors to sync up, but it should be resolved now.

I think the release notes are wrong. I can take a look at it late.

Edit: fixed

Hexxeh's repo is just for rpi-update.

Should be OK with OMXplayer though I think?
Sorry, got the wires crossed. Somebody in a thread about chromium mentioned the same thing.

Edit: Actually, same person. I wasn't too far off then. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 5#p1498084

Re: I dont get it... Why is everyone from science schools so obsessed with Perl and Python when we got C?

To answer OP's question, it's because RAM and performance are irrelevant for that use case. Numpy is mostly written in C and can use BLAS Most BLAS implementations will take full advantage of NEON and are extremely fast. and efficient. If you spend most of the time chewing through data in C, it does...

Re: Buster bug report thread

Yes, using systemd-networkd to manage eth0 and wlan0. I added two files to /etc/systemd/network. Then my understanding is that it's working as intended: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/systemd-devel/2015-April/030937.html Not sure that there's anything that can be done without adding drop-in...

Re: Buster bug report thread

I ran this with both -i wlan0 and -i eth0 (separately, of course). Here's what I got: rpi41/home/bls# SYSTEMD_LOG_LEVEL=debug /lib/systemd/systemd-networkd-wait-online --timeout=5 -i eth0 Found link 3 Found link 2 Found link 1 link eth0 is being processed by networkd Event loop failed: Connection t...

Just a +1 that I've noticed this as well, but didn't check whether it was an issue with the drive or the pi. I haven't seen it since switching to btrfs.

Re: nodered update & 240+ new packages?

Wouldn't you agree that if you're distributing a package as a deb, you shouldn't be mixing in different package managers? The number of times I've seen people try to sneak curl | bash into postinst scripts... Apt and dpkg have had a lot of time to evolve to handle lots of edge cases, handle conffile...

Re: nodered update & 240+ new packages?

Yes, I believe instead of bundling nodejs modules within the nodered package or installing them through NPM, it does the right thing and pulls them in through apt.

Re: Buster bug report thread

Can't find the report but boot to CLI with auto-login was positioning the cursor to left of screen meaning over-typing command prompt on first command. After an rpi-update that seems to be fixed but introduces 'random cases' of cursor jumping back to far left. Noticed mostly with command history cu...

Re: [fixed ?]strange issue - libappindicator3 missing?

IMHO, the package should be removed from the repo entirely, given how buggy and unmaintained it is. I'd recommend raising the issue with Debian, since it's not something we provide or support.
