Re: F2FS image available for testing

What does it say? There is an issue where dphys-swapfile tries to use ftruncate to create a file, which ends up being sparse on an F2FS filesystem. Since swapfiles can't be sparse, the service fails. However, that image shouldn't have that problem. The swap file should already exist and not need to ...

All the relevant changes are already made in the image, there's nothing to change in fstab.

F2FS image available for testing

Hello all, We've been experimenting a bit with making Raspbian a little more resilient to power losses and unreliable sd cards. Logging filesystems like F2FS are a bit more resilient than EXT4, so it's one of the options we're looking at. If you would like to try an F2FS image, particularly if you'v...

Re: Do not upgrade VLC

The maintainers of the Foundation repository should care about the problem. Not much that can be done about it. Security fixes bump our version intentionally and I get an automatic notification when it happens. Even if we prioritized our patches over security fixes, this update bumped the upstream ...

Re: Sonic Pi 3.2.0 deb package for Raspbian Buster

We would like to move away from binary-only packages. They're usually more trouble than they're worth, and sonic-pi is one of the worst in that regard. A normal source package can be rebuilt for different architectures automatically and be expected to just work. Updating to a new upstream release is...

Re: Sticky: Custom RPI4 Bootloader

I'm still waiting for a reason why my assertion that UEFI is Wrong is wrong, and why it's actually excellent. I was hoping that this thread would finally answer it, not that I held out much hope. Maybe I can help here. Normally, if a distro maintainer wants to support Raspberry Pi, they need to tre...

Re: Sticky: Custom RPI4 Bootloader

Certainly its not been requested by any commercial customers buying large numbers of Pi's. Well of course not. They're only buying them to stock up their closet drawers: 25 million of the Pi's are rotting away in our closet drawers, that is what happens to devices when users can't support hardware ...

You should be able to uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, but if you're running XP, you have bigger problems than that.

The short version is "just enable the driver in the kernel config and make sure the overlay is available". I don't use yocto, so I don't know the long version off the top of my head.

Thank you for the reply. Can I Ask ? What type of support the needs ? What types of changes I need to do in kernel ? https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/linux/kernel/building.md If you build the kernel using our instructions, no changes are necessary. If you're doing something else, I'd need ...

The POE functionality will be available regardless of what OS you use. The fan needs a kernel that supports it.

Since we don't use initramfs, systemd just doesn't work properly in this regard. They said it would be too tricky to fix.

Re: Raspberry PI 4 - USB Boot

Nobody has ever been banned for asking for a feature.

Usually people get banned when they take it past the point of asking and into the territory of harassment.

However, asking won't accomplish anything when the feature is already being worked on. It certainly won't make it happen any faster.
