We don't currently call update-initramfs, no.

Looks okay from here.

http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbia ... _armhf.deb

The sense-emu-tools installs and runs fine too.

Op seems to have had corrupted data.

Yes, it goes through the same process.

Re: ffmpeg crashed video

Unless the program explicitly flushes the data to disk regularly, linux will cache it for a certain amount of time or until it uses a certain percentage of memory. The only solution I can recommend is to cleanly exit ffmpeg and do a clean shutdown. If I was to give a solution I wouldn't recommend, t...

How did you turn it off? If you just remove power, that's expected behaviour.

Hope this doesn't derail the thread, but I'd just like to suggest 'shellcheck', which is a brilliant tool that finds most of the mistakes people make in shell scripts, including portability issues.

Just tried your settings and it seems to work for me.

What's in /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/trip_point_1?

Are you sure it's coming on at 50 and you're not just seeing it remain on while the temperature drops down from 59?

Did you update the kernel without rebooting?

Raspbian don't build or distribute images and the images we (Raspberry Pi) build don't come with jigdo files.

It's the packages and ancilliaries that are affected by this in particular. Still a lot of stuff. I am not familiar with how distros are put together beyond their being a collation and bundling of kernel, packages and utilities. I would have thought any fixes and changes to packages would be 'up at...

I don't see that happening, given the very niche use case.

There are many Windows tools to access linux partitions.

Re: ~rpt1 in some raspbian packages?

The rpt package comes from deb-multimedia. The upstream packaging had a few quality issues at the time. The deb-multimedia package isn't perfect either, but was more line line with what debian packages should look like. Afraid I can't offer any specifics since it has been a while.

Re: Where is "rpi-initramfs-tools"?

It doesn't exist yet. That change was just a way to clear the way for a hypothetical rpi-initramfs-tools if I had time to work on it, but also a place people could drop their own hooks.

Maybe the idea is a squashfs rootfs with overlays so that it can all live on a single partition? The post is a little sparse on details, but I don't think it's impossible.

If it's not the connection, then it may be a dead, or for whatever reason, unprogrammed board. If that's the case, I'd ask the seller for a replacement.

Re: PoE Hat Fan Not Working

It looks like it's not being automatically detected. Remove power and double check that the pins have good contact and there's no dirt or anything on the pins or in the connector.

If that doesn't help, try forcing it to load by adding 'dtoverlay=rpi-poe' to config.txt and rebooting.
