Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Also, could you tell me what I should change in the .conf file so that the camera and mic stop recording 30 seconds after the end of detecting the last motion. You need to set the post capture time in the GUI: Setup->Config->Times->Post_Capture Or in the config file, edit motion_post_capture. If yo...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

:D All done and works tnx for assistence and motivation to finish the project. Any plans for a script for this. it was very hard for me, a total noob on linux. Great! Glad you got it set up. I've a few changes to finish up in day or so, but after that I'll make it a priority to get a NFS archiving ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Massive progress! :D after decoding many, many, many tutorials, I have the pikrell media directory showing on my server. However all the directories(vidio, archive, ect) are empty, the files are not being sent :| So almost there, but nbo cigar yet. If you quit pikrellcam running from the web page and...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Thank you for the info. but I have no idea what to put on what pi. What do I do with the picam pi? what do i do with the server pi? pikrellcam saves media files and archives videos to directories and has no concept of client/server. It only runs on the Pi doing the motion detect/recording. So to ar...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I have given up at this point. Although Motioneye is not as good as pikrellcam. it does have network storage. So I will be installing that. If you have nfs-kernel-server installed the archive directory can be mounted with a NFS filesystem. On the computer to be archived to, the /etc/exports file ne...

A bit closer I think.. Have switched the command to pikrellcam.conf: on_motion_begin "python /home/pi/Desktop/BirdCam2/Dec_2017_scripts/live/sensor_Camera_on_motion_event.py" the script is executable and works if run form a terminal window. log entry as follows: 19:04:39 : on_motion_begin: - runnin...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi billw, Thanks for your quick response. One more question, can I config it as motion monitor only instead of motion recorder? Which means once there is motion detected, only thumb saved without video recorded. Along with the preview_save, on_motion_begin and on_motion_end commands, it is fine to ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

I got the 2 channel audio fixed up and audio can now be used as a motion event to trigger a recording. The PS3 Eye Cam is a good buy. It has better sensitivity than a -35 dB electret mic I was using and is better with noise than those cheap USB soundcards you find on Ebay and Amazon. I've been able ...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hello, Thanks for the great work. Here comes one question that whether it is possible to have a loop video recording with motion log as well as still thumbs saved. In case there is some motion detection missed, I could still have the chance to check it in the loop video. With the motion log and sti...

Hello @Billw & @DaveDJ the mic records until the last motion event while the camera keeps recording to the end of the 'Hold' period in the screenshot the mic records until 1.02 then the video keeps going for another 44 seconds with no sound The same thing is happening to me, no sound on the video w...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

If I understand the archive_loop does not exist as command. Is it correct ? I had thought only selected loop videos with motion would be worth archiving and not a full day of loop videos. But I can add it. I'll probably modify the existing archive_video script so it can archive videos from the medi...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Is there a way to move the text overlay form the top to the bottom of the video? The text is limited to the top by the mmal library layer because it is reusing an original camera debug feature that wasn't intended to be general purpose. I intend that a video triggered by audio events only will be t...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Would it be possible, in the event only an audio trigger starts the video, to temporarily select a lower frame rate and/or bitrate for the video recording? I have found the problem now, it isn't a bug in V4.1.1 but if you can advise how adjust to record the full mic recording up to the end in settings that would be great
What are all of your Times settings: confirm_gap, pre_capture, event_gap and post_capture?

Run df -h /run Run it before starting a record and then again after a record has run for the 30 to 50 seconds. Al...

Can motion_confirm_gap be changed with an at-command? If so, what would be the syntax?
Example:

If you have any interest in this I'd be happy to order a PS3 Eye camera for delivery to you. I have used these before with RPi and they work with "arecord" for 1, 2, and 4-channel (!) audio input. Thanks for the offer, but I should just order one or two. I did not know there was such a cheap 2 chan...
