Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi Bill, About a year ago (1st April 2016) there were a few posts by user "djako" in which he proposed changes to the pkc web interface to make it more mobile friendly and he offered his help to implement it. Did anything come of that? I believe he was waiting for you to implement a few updates bef...

OK, there's an upgrade to 4.0.3 you can try that doesn't abort if making the archive
dir fails.

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Thanks for this great software - up and running straight out of the box. That's pretty rare in my experience! I am using a usb flash drive for my media directory and my NAS for the archive directory. Works perfectly except that if the NAS is not up then I cannot start pkc - startup fails with the m...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Hi I am trying to run a command at the end of the motion detect event. So in pikrejllcam.conf I am using the on_motion_end directive with $v for the full path and filename. However $v returns the previous video and not the current one for which the motion detect event is for. Is there another subst...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

yes, with a fixed time interval not depending on actual disk use, you may suddenly run out of storage space if you have a period of time with an unusually large number of events. Which is why I will have to make a builtin implementation that checks space per video. Probably it will be a single conf...

No, but such a command does seem appropriate to have. I'll see about adding one.

I've been using pikrellcam a while now and it's fantastic. Quick query... Is there a way I can auto-archive video files to the archive folder, once a day (for example)? I know I could write a script to do this using at-commands, but when you click the 'archive' button in the GUI it puts the videos ...

I haven't been paying attention and somehow missed that PiKrellCam now has a audio recording feature! I missed that too, mine have been working fine for months so never checked for updates. Billw gets sound working and the Eyecam driver get broken :o Looks like that's now fixed. Does it take Eyecam...

Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

Pikrellcam can record audio/video.

Jessie Lite users need libmp3lame0 installed or else pikrellcam will not run.
Minibian users need that and also libasound2.

See the Help page after upgrading.

Is there a way to set the OSD time stamp to 24-hour format? Locale is set to de_DE, but There's the annotate_format_string variable in pikrellcam.conf that is processed with strftime. Re: PiKrellCam: motion vector detect + OSD web interface

AFAIK, PiKrellCam defaults to 24 fps because nothing faster will work on the RPi hardware available at the time, with the text & graphics overlay that are integrated in the system. Since then we've got faster HW and 30 fps does work on a RPi 3, but I doubt 60 fps or more would. However you could tr...
