Re: Monitor problem

Don't think strictly in terms of computer monitors.
Odds are favorable you own a tv with a composite (yellow RCA jack) input.
You just may not be aware of it.

Re: Colors & Thumb Drives

What signal are you using to display? What you describe is pretty consistent for composite in less than ideal circumstances (IMHO). If you are using the HDMI, that's another story. Try another display. Reseat the cable, try another cable too if you can. Then take a look at the config file. There are...

Re: booting from class 10 SD doesn't work

I have two 8GB Class 10s used on a 256MB RPi and a 64GB (what?) Class 10 in use on a 512.

Haven't had a problem yet that I can attribute to the SD cards.

They're all SanDisk, btw. Quality control varies between manufacturers. Just like opinions between conumers. :P

Re: Strange X Session Behaviour With Mac OS X X11 Server.

Check out this thread,
http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 44#p245144

Simply put the behavior is normal the first time, and after a modification, should not occur again.

Hope this helps. It did for me.

The RPi models A and B are introductory Computer Science tools developed and produced by a charity organization in order to encourage future generations to take an interest in programming and other computer sciences.

You're abusing the foundation's volunteers because you don't have audio-in.

Really?

D-Link DUB-H7 Same footprint as the RPi and I haven't had a single problem with it. Powering the RPi, Bluetooth, externall HDD (powered by hub), and a Motorola Lapdock for Keyboard and Trackpad. If it matters there's also a wi-fi module with a high-gain antenna plugged directly into the RPi. Not a s...

I just don't want to put words in anyone's mouth. There could be a freak occurrence. An enornous endowment of Arm10 chips for example.

Does it continue to escape everyone's noticing, that there is very limited, extraordinarily limited likelyhood, of a version C? It's all well and good to speak hypothetically. I know I need to brush up on my Hypothetical every now and again. But the PRF is not a hardware company. It's an charity out...

Re: PoE (Power over Ethernet) more usefull

How about something along these lines? https://www.adafruit.com/products/435 This doesn't address all of the problems, noted. Still need to address sending the proper voltage to the RPi, and you'll need to adapt the barrel jack to a mini USB. But it doesn't require any modifications to the RPi. (I d...

Re: SD-card vibrations

Stock? No. However... take a look at the vibration dampening systems for hard disk drives, specifically those suspending the drive in elastic bands. An RPi in a case is smaller, in most dimensions, than a HDD. You may be able to retro fit one to your needs, or assemble your own.

Re: WiFi Card?

You'll be needing a USB hub. A powered hub is highly advised. Models that play well with the RPi vary, but that subject is discussed in these forums.

I've had positive experiences with the follwing models.
DLink DUB-H7 USB 2.0 7 Port
Tripp Lite U222-010-R USB 2.0 10-Port

Re: RBP too long to be deliver

From whom did you purchase the RPi? Only a few of the retailers have a presence here. You will quite likely find a much quicker and much more satisfactory response in returning to the website you made your purchase. You have not indicated you location, but if the RPi has not shipped, receipt by the ...

Re: Acorn AFK60 monitor

My most sincere apologies, but no. VGA is analog, HDMI is digital. Any translation must be active and cannot be acomplished by the monitor or the RPi. HDMI is always digital. VGA is traditionally analog. (I'm hedging my bets here. I've never heard of a digital display signal on VGA. But that doesn't...
