Will the update fix the over clock corruption as well?

Re: EXT4 formatted harddrive accessible via NFS on Windows c

I get around 10 MB/s writes on my setup, samba and ext4, plus NFS setup to connect my other Pi to it.

Re: EMULATION ON THE RPi (UPDATE)

I installed it using the script, not the image, so it should be using whatever is fairly new, its something to do with the retroarch stella core just running better than standalone

The version of Stella with RetroPie works fine, I had the same problem.

Re: Which OS for Netflix?

I guess if we had a decent working chrome it would probably work, but in any case, as far as the Raspberry Pi as a cheap media device, the lack of Netflix is quite annoying, but at least XBMC funs fine.

If you are looking at the NUCs, also look at the Zotac Xbox Nano and Gigabyte Brix models.

Re: Which OS for Netflix?

I have a Pi setup with XBMC and I keep telling my gf that it will work fine as a smart TV alternative, but she still thinks the Pi is "stupid" because we have a 4 year old netbook that plays Netflix perfectly fine and the Pi can't play it at all. I hope at some point, we change that around. I'm off ...

Re: Not Satisfied with your Wireless Pi? Try Ethernet!

My current router is a Linksys 600N, dont have the exact model off hand, but its not what is at fault, it is most likely the Wireless adapter I was using, but I don't feel like guessing so I'd rather just try to run a cable. It frees up a USB port, doesn't require extra power and no need to worry ab...

Re: Not Satisfied with your Wireless Pi? Try Ethernet!

I think you both just missed the point of the thread.

I'm going on a WiFi rant, I'm trying to point out that Ethernet is cheaper and more stable, most people assume WiFi is just as ethernet, and its not.

You want to suggest I complicate my setup, but my plan is to simplify it.

Re: Ubuntu on Raspberry Pi

Ubuntu is not a house hold name, most people have never even heard of Linux or know what it is, much less the 2nd most popular flavor of it. The Raspberry Pi has given itself a pretty popular name in the tech industry as being a pretty cheap but still capable computer, without the help of Ubuntu. My...

Are you using NOOBs? If you are, try using the standard image instead.

Not to mention a utter waste of time...

I'm still wondering what is so wrong with Raspbian that they want Ubuntu. Its not like its going to be like a magical full speed desktop system if it has Ubuntu on it.

Not Satisfied with your Wireless Pi? Try Ethernet!

I've been having a lot of issues streaming with XBMC into my bedroom with wireless, it would buffer constantly no matter what I was trying to watch, even local vids on my server. I was using a Intellinet Nano wireless adapter that worked out of the box with no additional drivers, tried with both plu...

NFS Server is not straight forward to setup

As a follow up to this guy having the same problem:

http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 1&p=147565

It seems there are some issues getting rpcbind to play nice. Out of curiosity, is there any reason why rpcbind doesn't work out of the box?

Weird Samba Issue

I have 2 Pis I have a NasPi setup hooked up to 2 EXT4 3TB drives (uses rsync to back 1 of the other) that has been running for about 2 months now. My Windows PCs accesses it perfectly fine and it works great. The problem is, when I try to access the same shares from my other Pi. I have used Raspbian...

Don't ask about getting ROMs, if you play around with emulators, you should know that its illegal to share them.

I use RetroPie, but I only really play Atari and SNES on it.

Re: Atari Emulator - System Button Menu Idea

Its not about launching the game, I can already do that with Emulation Station. The RetroArch core works better than using standalone Stella anyway, it had a 5 second audio lag when I tried it. I'm considering getting a set of Atari joysticks so I could make an AtariPi, the problem is implementing t...

Atari Emulator - System Button Menu Idea

Alright, so what if you make a Raspberry Pi into a Atari 2600 using actual Joysticks just like the old console? The problem is, you only have 5 buttons. So I thought about it and I'm wondering if there could be a way to do some kind of joystick combo not used in most games to bring up a menu (which ...
