Suggestion for NOOBS

I have yet to install it on anything to try it, but I just read over it and I will probably be using it on my Raspian and Raspbmc images so I don't have to reformat my SD cards every time something breaks. To my suggestion though: I see where the recovery console has a web browser for quick Google s...

Re: Is there a hard drive size limit?

Well, laptop hard drives aren't that big yet, and all desktop drives have to be externally powered. So I was just letting that be an assumption that they were externally powered. But I've found some posts that make me believe there has been some issues before, and I need to know if they will work be...

Is there a hard drive size limit?

Kind of a noob question, but can the Pi work with external 3 or 4 TB drives? They will probably be formatted in ext4 for performance reasons over NTFS. I'm thinking about trying to make a NAS with 2 drives that sync (following a How To Geek article), before I invest in a Intel based server that does...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

I haven't messed around with my RPI in a while, but the last time I did some months back, I knew there were a lot of control issues with emulators, mainly with 2 player games and getting the 2nd controller to work. Keep in mind, I know how to configure and setup the system, but as an example, I coul...

Re: Could You Use Raspberry Pi As A Nettop (Media PC)?

XBMC is perfect for the living room for consuming media, but don't get the Pi if you need to browse the web, its not optimized for that.

I have a second SD card for running emulators so you could play some old school games on your TV as well.

Oh, but there is no Netflix at this point in time.

Is there a working Pandora Plugin for XBMC

Specifically, I have Rasbmc, and upon a Google search, I couldn't find anything new on it, I know at one point there was a working one, but an update broke it I think.

But if there is a working one, that would be great!

Re: RetroPie Project SD-Card Image

Donkey Kong, 2 player switching to Diddy Kong (in 2 player coop mode) still uses player 1 controller If it's of any help, if my memory serves me correctly, this is how it's supposed to be with this game. :P It is if you play 1 player, otherwise, whats the point? I'm fairly sure thats not supposed t...

Re: RetroPie Project SD-Card Image

I just figured out I have other control issues with the SNES emulator. Mario Kart works fine with 2 player Donkey Kong, 2 player switching to Diddy Kong (in 2 player coop mode) still uses player 1 controller Super Mario World works, haven't tried 2 player Also, I haven't been able to play 2 player A...

Re: RetroPie Setup - Auto-installer/updater for RetroArch ga

If I get some time, I'll try to get the Xbox controllers working, I had them working before, but that was like 6 months ago. It was a pain in the ass if I remember correctly. Right now, I'm using 2 USB Retrolink SNES controllers. I made a post in the other thread about the image, which one should we...

Re: RetroPie Project SD-Card Image

This image really simplifies things a lot. I only had to configure the controls and enable full screen mode, but it still has some issues, but first a suggestion: Put some comments in the Doom config to explain the controls, which are the following, in respective to an SNES controller: D-Pad moves X...

PlayOn and the RPi

I read where the video streaming service PlayOn can let you watch Netflix, July and Various TV channels on your Pi by having a PlayOn server on your network stream them to your devices. How well does this work and is it even worth getting into? I would probably buy it right now if I could watch The ...

Atari Emulator w/ Joystick and Paddles

I've been thinking about investing in some Atari Joysticks and Paddles and the necessary adapters so I could create a little mini Atari 2600 emulator with the Raspberry Pi. I figure the Joysticks would not be that hard to get working, but I'm wondering if anyone has got the Paddles to work in a Pi A...

Emulation Distro

I'm curious, is anyone working on or thinking about making a distro for emulators? Not that it is hard to install Emulation Station, but a more automatic approach would be awesome.

Im wondering if anyone has tried these yet? I might order a set at some point, maybe after the holidays. Im concerned that the adapter might not work correctly on the Pi, and that it actually shows as 2 controllers.

Has the script been updated recently for anything related to the Atari 2600 core? Its been a few weeks messing around with it, but ive been having issues getting player 2 to work in that emulator.

Im going to wait for the next Raspbian to mess around with it more.

With the last version, you had to do some extra steps to upgrade, im trying to avoid having to worry about upgrading an existing install and would rather wait.

Status on new version of Raspbian?

I have to setup 3 SD cards for my Pi for different uses, and since it will entail a lot of time, i decided to wait until the next version of Raspbian is out.

So im just wondering if there will be a new version out soon or whether I should go ahead and set them up now if its going to be a while.
