Re: Ds18b20 stuck reading same temperature

Ok, here is the result after 2 weeks. The problem did not happen again since then. I keep monitoring and let you know guys. As for @dickon, the ds18B20 do work fine in parasite mode on the raspberry pi. I was almost certain that it would since they dont seems to use the advantages of the non parasit...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

Ok guys. Thanks a lot for helping. I wasn’t able to give up without a last try. So a remove ntp and tried again using the timesyncd. Surprising enough, i was able to find out that the client is indeed receiving something from the server. Because if In the server’s ntp.conf, i set the line restrict 1...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

wow... this is getting out of hand ;-) The only thing I want is to get all the computers at the same date and time (plus or minus 10 minutes). Since I had to have a ntp server to set the clock of the Hubitat hub, I thought to use the same server to update the other clients. All the docs I read about...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

public servers works. Not the one you gave me, but this one: 0.debian.pool.ntp.org I get errors in the log but it does work anyway. In the list, that debian server stayed as a stratum 16, but I can see a list of about 12 ip addresses below with st being 1, 2 or 3 I dont know what to think anymore......

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

The firewall in the Cisco is turned off. Beside, if Hubitat can go through, the RPi should. And yes, 16 means untrusted time source. But who decide it's 16? I dont recall having set that anywhere. To try the public server, I'll have to connect this network to internet. I'll do that. it might help fi...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

grrrr... I wont have any hair left after this... Thanks a lot for helping me with this. I'm desperated. I did wait and wait, but no time update. But by looking at the ntpq command, it sounds like it's never reaching the server. I also installed the ntpdate but no luck. When i type sudo ntpdate 192.1...

Samething. I see that the datetimectl command did effectively changed the time but after a reboot, it failed again.

Compared to the log i posted earlier, there that line that bugs me a lot related to no interface available for broadcast...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

Omg.... i ran to the rpi to try adjusting the clock 10 minutes off the server. But no 😂. Same problem. I rebooted and same problem. But i didn't understand where to put the -g option. I am wondering also why in the log i dont see the ip of the server it is supposed to poll the time from. Somehow i t...

Re: Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

It would make sense if others couldn’t talk to the server as well. But HE does get the time form the ntp server.

Everything is the default; even the router is restored to the default just to be sure.

Cannot get NTP client to sync with local server

I cannot set the RPi to sync its time over the local network. I have one RPi that is setup as NTP server. This is OK and it is sending its time to the Hubitat Elevation when it's being requested. The server part is then OK. I'm trying to get the others RPI to sync their time from the same local serv...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 loses WiFi signal

Ok, i do have a wifi problem right now but the lines from the ps waxu are still present. This is a brand new rpi. Using the browser, i get an error saying that the internet is not available every other request. I am still in that state now. What should I look for? I’ll wait to reboot so we can inves...

Re: Ds18b20 stuck reading same temperature

If you power the sensor with a GPIO you can toggle it to reset the sensor.
Yes I’ve seen it. It is a good idea. But I think I’ll be over maximum current allowed with 15 sensors. I would need to use a relay I guess. But I rather try to solve the problem instead of only applying a patch.

Waiting for the next time now. The only thing I wasn’t sure about was for that 3.3 volts but you confirmed that it w...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 loses WiFi signal

Thanks. I see indeed the two lines almost identical to yours. But at the moment, the wifi works. I'll check that as soon as it stops working. As for the thead for the router, I did search there and found only people that had similar behaviours except that when they entered the proper country for the...

Re: Ds18b20 stuck reading same temperature

They are about 5 feet away. Very short wires. And yes they are connected with three wires, on the 3.3volts.

I wish I could post an image but I don’t understand what the system is waiting for when I click on img. It just adds img and /img but no way to select a photo from the iPad.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 loses WiFi signal

Hi guys, Sorry to interrupt but I have the exact same problem. I didn’t think that the onboard wifi was ok on the rpi4 by reading several posts. I was about to abandon my searches but hey... if I can help solve this issue I’d love to. I’m fairly new to RPI. About two month ago I bought my first one....

Alors Drabo, comment as tu résolu ton problème?

Re: Ds18b20 stuck reading same temperature

Actually, these two were probably the originals from Dallas that I bought may be 25 years ago. By the way, on my old system they were always reporting properly. I have to say that at the time, I was using them in parasite power mode and the driver was mine 100%. I was making the wave in assembler. M...

Ds18b20 stuck reading same temperature

I have two ds18b20 connected to the raspberry pi 4. This is working great. But then, after a few days, one of them start giving the same temperature over and over. It is stuck there. Then, a few hours later, the second one got stuck too. One of them at 21.43 and the other one at 22. Looking at the w...
