Umm, that would tell you that you were moving but would not give you altitude (wave height) or atmospheric pressure (which might be interesting to meteorologists anyway).

Not exactly what you were asking but I was wondering about the possibility of an aerial drone that could collect wifi ssid's?

Cool project!

How about including a pressure sensor?

It would be interesting to measure atmospheric pressure but if it is sensitive enough the min and max values could also give you wave height information.

AV system automation (IR + RS232)

Hi Everyone, This is my first post here. I hope to receive my raspberry pi very soon. (A birthday gift from my brother; we both love gadgets etc)! I have in mind to try to use the raspberry pi as an AV system controller. Similar in concept to very expensive systems provided by the likes of Crestron....
