Re: Overclocking

I am still getting file corruption with the latest start.elf on 512mb board. Using latest build of OpenELEC that comes with the start,elf and has memory split in config.txt. After a reboot it stops at the splash, error count miunt such and such. The FAT32 partiton stays ok, but the linux partition g...

Re: Wrote image file to wrong disk

Cheers mate, I went panic stations full blast and got a bunch of recovery tools and had bunch running at the same time. I then had a few valium. I think my best bet is partition recovery. I killed of the scans I had running and started the one I thought was best, 'Active Partition Recovery'. Some sl...

Re: Wrote image file to wrong disk

I feel sick in the stomach.

I am hoping most of the data is there, most of the 2TB is unallocated and only the first few gigs were over written. I just dont think I have the skills to recover from this.

I accidentally wrote a R-Pi image to the wrong disk and I lost heaps of stuff. Anyone know how I can recover from this?

Re: Backup SD

I get a error at the start before it has written any data with Win 32 Dsik Imager.

I have 4GB image but it is really only a 1GB setup of xbmc and I wanted to copy to a 2GB card. I thought this trick would work but unfortunately not unless I miss something.

I think easiest way is to use raspi-config.

sudo raspi-config

Re: Try to use Openelec on RPi for the first time

Not sure I understand but;

1) You need a wifi dongle for the R-Pi or use etherent cable

2) Under the video tab 'add source'

Re: Starting an openelec project

ASUS N-10 wifi dongle works well with OpenELEC.

For remote might be able to your tvs remote via CEC which OpenELEC uses.

The best revision imo so far is r12015, they always updating and fixing, they are pretty impressive developers.

I like OpenELEC xbmc for the R-Pi the most, compile you own or use a pre-made image. Plenty of guides for both ways are easy to find.

Its definitely the new start.elf. New one corrupts and the old one dosnt see the full amount of RAM on new boards. can you run vcgencmd version vcgencmd measure_clock emmc Sorry I am not sure how do that. What I did try is using a new image of OpenELEC r12089 and with no overclock and the start.elf...

@portets Cheers I just moved to new 512 R-Pi and I was having trouble. It would boot fine but every reboot it would fail and have a error about not being able to mount such and such. Re: Overclocking

I have these values now;

force_turbo=1
arm_freq=900
sdram_freq=500
gpu_freq=350

So having gpu freq at 350 also sets core, h264, isp, v3d to 350? or should I overclock core_freq as well gpu_freq?

Re: Overclocking

Are you able to overclock the gpu/h264/isp/v3d when dynamically (ondemand) overclocking the arm/core? I think you need to force_turbo to be able to overclock the other GPU components, otherwise they are stuck at 250 no matter what frequency you tell them to use (I think Dom has this on his list to ...

Re: Overclocking

I notice most people are only overclocking arm_freq, arm_freq, core_freq. I have been using; arm_freq=900 arm_freq=450 gpu_freq=350 core_freq=350 h264_freq=350 isp_freq=350 v3d_freq=350 Am I better off leaving the others at stock, so I can maybe get a bit more out off arm_freq, arm_freq, core_freq? ...
