Re: Introduce yourself!

Hellö I've been working with SW dev for the last 22 years and have recently found a new hobby in HW tinkering with Arduino and Raspi. Daytime I work at Sony (formerly -Ericsson) with graphics development on Android core. When Android is fully available with binary blob I will port some great code an...

10" Touch Screen for Raspi on route shortly!

Yep, within the next couple of days I'm unboxing my 10" (HDMI) touchscreen + LVDS from ChalkElec. I will obviously conduct various tests and post them here since the whole package seems rather competent - and is for now the "only" way to connect a touchscreen to our beloved Raspi's, that is unless y...

Re: First 10" LCD with capacitive touch based on Raspberry P

My only worry is receiving the kit at all... No news or update for quite a while now... What's up? You should drop email to our sales ([email protected].com) with number of your order. But as far as I know, after some delays with shipping we already get back to normal schedule of shipping. So, your ...

Re: Amiga Roms for Raspberry Pi

@Respectech, of course Amiga isn't completely "dead", otherwise we wouldn't have this conversation :p But the 68K platform that existed in pretty much "every home" and had the best HW architecture to date is sadly dead and that's what I was referring to... Keep us posted on Raspi + Amiga project! Ex...

Re: Amiga Roms for Raspberry Pi

Sorry for OT but I can't stop giggling about the legal comments about ownership of Amiga/Commodore assets and patent/copyright malarkey... :p This has been going on forever and will probably never cease due to its complex ownership situation... We Amiga users/fans/"old guys" who was there from the b...

Re: Using an IDE (PATA) DVD?

Have now ascertained cable/converter at local-ish place and will pick up as soon as I can get into the car. xbmc looks nice but is a bit on the heavy side for a raspi so omxplayer with homebrew UI is the way I'll go. I'm skipping X in order to save resources and will use DirectFB or OpenVG to render...

Using an IDE (PATA) DVD?

I know it's easy to just plug in a USB DVD drive but that's now what I've got plenty of... I have tried to butcher my old external USB HD and use its EZ-USB board to access a DVD-ROM but for some reason it won't read... They obviously didn't see that usecase whilst writing the firmware... :p Writing...

Re: What to do with my Raspberry Pi

A few things I'm doing with/for the kids... (and myself ;) ) Various "light" shows with diods and individually controllable LED strips. One project I'm doing is a LARGE thermometer (outdoor sensor) with a LED strip that shows the outside temperature outdoors like an old thermometer. The colours of t...

Re: XAMOS

FAB!!!!!!!! :D Although I mainly used MSeka v1.80 on the Amiga platform, AMOS was really powerful if you got into it! I think I really knew AMOS in and out towards the end of the Amiga-era but now it's all but gone... I will certainly have a go at XAMOS! I've only just bought an old A500 a few days ...

Re: "made in the UK" feedback.

As long as it's "Made" - then I'm happy! :p

(pun for waiting on RS... hehe...)

But it's a fair comment actually. If they're made in Wales then it should either be "Made in Wales" or "Made in GB" but changing this would delay many units for us and that's an acceptable "loss" IMO.

Re: 7" monitor cabling conundrum

The "ps2" cable you're holding is a S-VHS cable and will not help you in any way with regards to HDMI...
You will only be able to use the screen with analog Y/C (RCA connector).

You guys get email updates? I'm waiting for my 2:nd shipment from RS (two rpis + extras) and I hear nothing... My ref is 10101nnnnn and I was really hoping to get these two soon-ish since my first unit no longer delivers +5v or +3.3v on GPIO... Meanwhile I've discovered Arduino and that's where I'm ...

Ordering in Sweden?

Ordered my Gertboard via microkit.se in Sweden upon request from element14 website but after a week I got my money back with the comment "Farnell doesn't deliver to us..." I can't order from Farnell Sweden since I'm not a company... Enlighten me, please, on how to proceed in the quest of ordering a ...
