Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.09 released

@pate: Alone In the Dark madness with this version!! It sounds PERFECT!! One of the best DOS original games runs now on Rpi86 with PERFECT speed and sound! You know what you have done? You unleashed the hellish forces living under Derceto mansion, and now we MUST have an "Raspberry In the Dark" nigh...

DOS protected mode games work on rpi86. If a game fails, report to pate, because they work in theory.

Re: Simpsons Arcade Game

I've played the TMNT arcade with pudding's MAME4ALL, wich has the same hardware. With my Raspbian configuration (no unnecessary services enabled and no Xorg) it runs fullspeed at solid 60FPS.
You can't hope for anything better :)

Exactly, PiGraham: it starts to slowdown and sound broken after a second or so.
Should it be reported somewhere?

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.08 released

Hi Pate! Thanks a lot for your work on this version!

I've however noticed slow music on "Alone on the Dark" and "Prince of Persia" still persist. In fact, "Alone in the Dark" is totally unplayable with music ON, because the game seems to be somehow synced on music.

Just as a reminder :P

Trying to use a Raspberry Pi as fluidsynth midi synth server

Hi again, Let's say I have fluidsynth running on a Raspberry Pi as a server with fluidsynth --server --audio-driver=alsa /usr/share/sounds/sf2/FluidR3_GM.sf2 Fluidsynth server is listening on local IP 192.168.5.7 (Rpi's IP), on port 9800. My client computer is 192.168.5.8 on the same network, and it...

Espeak sounds slow and broken

Hi folks, I'm trying to play around with espeak, the most popular text-to-speech program for Raspbian, widely used it seems. I'm on the latest raspbian, updated via sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade. My Rpi is connected to an LCD Tv via HDMI cable. However, something as simple as: espeak ...

Re: Aemulor - 26bit emulator for Raspberry Pi 'PreOrders

Indeed, but ArcEm is an *emulator*. Regarding double buffering (AFAIK) earlier versions of RISC OS 5.19 (I am thinking RC6) doesn't do double buffering either (something to do with the firmware), but again (AFAIK) later versions - such as RC8 do. So what? MAME is also an emulator, as are Atari800, ...

Re: Aemulor - 26bit emulator for Raspberry Pi 'PreOrders

ArcEM is shitty as it doesn't respect double-buffering and vsync. Games are full of tearing: Risc OS games weren't like that. Aemulor on the Pi doesn't play a single game. What's worse: Risc OS developers have dropped support for 44KHz audio on the Pandaboard so the few games that sounded right on i...

Re: PiSNES released - Super Nintendo emulator

@Andrey, Pudding: Any hopes for a recent Snes9X version to be fullspeed on the Pi? Old versions < 1.5x have horrible audio emulation, with broken samples and rythms (pipes in Mario World, every music out of tempo in Super Adventure Island, etc). Blargg's SPC700 was incorporated later and corrected t...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.07 released

I have been testing "Alone On the Dark", the Lovecraftian game of my childhood, and it works great without OPL music (disabled in the in-game menu) but it's pretty much slow and unplayable with OPL music on. My first idea was to blame OPL emulation CPU usage, since synthesis chips have always been a...

Re: rpix86 (Raspberry Pi x86 emulator) version 0.06 released

For VSync emulation I use the hardware VSync, so the games will run with a 60Hz VSync even when they think they run at 70Hz. This may make some games run slower than they should, but usually this is not a problem Keep it like this, please. I'm tired absurd emulators running at their exact 59.94 Hz ...
